Giant Petrobras fields that Eneva wants to participate in have the potential to transform Sergipe into the largest natural gas producing state outside the Southeast!
After the billion-dollar acquisition of the Porto de Sergipe regasification terminal and the associated thermoelectric plant – the largest acquisition in its history, Eneva wants to acquire a stake in Petrobras' giant offshore natural gas fields.
The information was collected by the agency epbr, she says, that the deal has not yet been closed, but Eneva's interest is to increase the share of domestic gas available in its portfolio for commercialization and development of new businesses.
According to a material fact published by Eneva, last Friday (8/10), the negotiation involves the stakes of IBV Brasil, an Indian company that owns 40% of Agulhinha and Cavala, where Petrobras operates 100% of the Agulhinha Oeste fields , Budião Southeast, Budião Northwest and Palombeta; and 75% of Budião, in partnership with ONGC.
"Eneva negotiates entry into offshore natural gas fields in Sergipe” (“News”), the Company presents clarifications in order to prevent any information asymmetry that may result from the News, due to its commitment to the highest standard of corporate governance and the broad transparency of its practices.
“The Company is in the preliminary evaluation phase for the acquisition of a stake in IBV Brasil Petróleo Limitada (“IBV”), or a minority stake directly in the BM-SEAL-11 concession operated by Petróleo Brasileiro SA – Petrobras (“Assets” ), within the scope of the insolvency proceedings of VOVL Limited, a company that indirectly holds a 50% stake in IBV, underway in Mumbai, India,” said Eneva in the statement.
Everything going well for Eneva, the purchase of assets will mark the oil company's entry into production offshore.
Eneva currently has operational projects in Amazonas, Maranhão, Roraima and, soon, in Sergipe, in addition to the company analyzing business in Rio de Janeiro.
