Job Openings in Various Sectors and Brazilian States Are Available for Those Seeking a Temporary Opportunity

Good news for those looking for a chance in the job market and an easier selection process! The temporary work agency WE CAN BR announced it will open more than 50,000 temporary job openings for this second semester. With the end of the year approaching, the demand for temporary professionals increases, especially in the retail, industry, logistics, and health sectors. And the best part: the opportunities will be spread across various states in Brazil.

The outlook is promising. According to the Brazilian Association of Temporary Work (Asserttem), 565,000 temporary job openings are expected in just the last quarter of the year, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth is driven by a favorable economic outlook and high demand in sectors like retail and e-commerce, which traditionally hire more to meet the increase in sales during the holiday season. In the first half of this year, there was a 25% increase in temporary hires compared to last year.

Path to the Selection Process

Temporary work is not just a quick solution for those who are unemployed; it is also an entry point to a permanent job. In Brazil, the conversion rate for temporary workers ranges between 15% and 25%, depending on the sector and the time of year.

At the end of 2023, this rate was around 22%, showing stability compared to previous years. Lucas Santos, CEO of WE CAN BR, emphasizes: “Temporary professionals who demonstrate good performance, adapt well to the company culture, and show commitment have a higher chance of being converted to permanent positions.”

Rights and Benefits

Temporary hires are governed by Law 6,019/74, which establishes specific conditions for this type of work. After the selection process, contracts may be extended for up to nine months, and temporary workers have rights similar to those of employees with permanent contracts, such as FGTS, INSS, proportional vacation, and 13th salary.

This hiring modality offers agility for companies, allowing quick adjustments to the workforce, whether to meet production peaks or to replace employees on leave.
