This launch represents a significant milestone for the joint venture from China, as this is the company’s first model to be exported to other countries. Based on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, shared with the Hong Guang Mini EV and the Baojun KiWi EV, the company’s electric car will be available for sale in the second half of this year, in Indonesia.
Details of the GM Air EV Electric Car
The new model from the Chinese company will be produced at the Cikarang factory in West Java for the local market. It’s important to note that this Southeast Asian country is the only place where SGMW has a factory outside China and has a strong presence.
After the successful Hong Guang Mini EV and the Nano EV launched last year, the company is adding the Air EV, a third mini electric car, which will be the brand’s first electric model aimed at global export.
