The French Total Licensed Five Oil Wells Today In The Campos Basin

The French oil company Total began on this day, 18th, the environmental licensing of 5 oil wells in the pre-salt of the Campos Basin. The wells licensed by Total at Ibama are part of the exploratory block C-M-541.

The concession contract for the area was signed by the French company last Friday (14th) with the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP).

Total is a partner of the Brazilian state-owned company Petrobras and the oil companies Shell, CNPC, and CNOOC in the Mero project, the first production sharing area in the country.

The French company is also the operator of the Lapa field, an area under the concession regime in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin acquired in Petrobras’s divestment and partnership program.
