The Race For Productive Expansion In The Recôncavo Basin By Alvopetro Is Getting Better And, After Discovering The Presence Of Natural Gas In The Region With The Drilling Of Wells In Recent Months, The Oil Company Discovered The Presence Of Hydrocarbons On Site.

The oil company Alvopetro continues its search for new resources in the Recôncavo Basin, located in the state of Bahia, until this Thursday, (07/14). And, after discovering the presence of natural gas during the drilling of wells in the area in April of this year, the company revealed that there are hydrocarbons in the region and will explore possibilities for resource exploration.

Alvopetro’s Exploration In The Recôncavo Basin Continues To Bring Good Results And The Company Discovered The Presence Of Hydrocarbons In The Bahia Region

Alvopetro’s exploratory campaign in the state of Bahia, specifically in the Recôncavo Basin, is proceeding as expected this week and has ensured good results for the oil company. This is because the company announced the discovery of hydrocarbons in three formations (Candeias, Água Grande, and Sergi) from the drilling of well 183-B1 in block REC-T-183, thus guaranteeing the possibility of future exploration of these resources on site.

Furthermore, in addition to the potential reserves of these hydrocarbons in the Recôncavo Basin, the drilling of Alvopetro’s well also ensured new discoveries, totaling 34.3 meters of net pay (productive layer), with an average porosity of 10.6% and an average water saturation of 29.0%. The drilling of well 183-B1 has been bringing significant results for the company’s exploratory campaign in the Bahia region and the oil company intends to continue down this path.

Thus, Alvopetro will conduct a multizone testing program for well 183-B1 for further evaluations regarding the possibility of the existence of commercial hydrocarbons in the Recôncavo Basin. Moreover, these tests will also ensure new studies on the potential for exploration and production of fuels in the Bahia region, which is currently the main focus of the oil company.

Company Had Previously Discovered Natural Gas Reserves During Exploration Campaign In The Recôncavo Basin Region

The discovery of hydrocarbons in the Recôncavo Basin during the exploration campaign by Alvopetro was not the main result recently. This is because the company announced in April of this year indications of natural gas in block REC-T-182, in well 182-C1, which had been drilled by the company recently in search of resources.

In this way, the company highlighted that the initial results for the indications of natural gas in the Recôncavo Basin represent significant steps for the expansion and exploration campaign in Bahia. The company also stated that the gas plant expansion project in the Caburé field, also located in the Bahia basin, is scheduled to be completed by the end of July this year. This stage will be essential to expand the plant’s production, which will grow by about 25%, reaching the level of 500 thousand cubic meters per day.

Finally, the company is also advancing in the Murucututu field, also in the Recôncavo Basin, where Alvopetro intends to commence the commissioning of its production unit in the area through well 183-1 at the end of this month of July, to ensure greater productivity at the plant.

Thus, Alvopetro’s CEO, Corey Ruttan, highlighted the current level of the company in the exploration campaign and said: “The expansion of our gas processing facility is nearly complete, and we expect to test production at our latest discovery in 183-B1, as well as our previous success at well 182-C1. These tests will help define the total potential for development and growth of production from these new and exciting discoveries.”
