Ambev, the world’s largest brewery, has extended the deadline for applications for assistance of at least R$ 150 until March 13, aiming to help workers affected by the carnival cancellation. If you are a street vendor or recycler, see below how to participate and secure your assistance.

The company, which will provide assistance to professionals for the second year, has been distributing funds to registered workers on the “Partners Of Other Carnivals” platform for street vendors, and for recyclers through the National Association Of Recyclable Material Collectors (ANCAT). The idea is for them to mobilize a series of local cooperatives to register and process payments for these individuals.

The Ambev project partners with the Zé Delivery beverage app across Brazil and works like this: all orders made through the delivery platform between February 27 and March 13 will generate a donation of R$ 5. This amount will be totaled at the end of the period and divided among all users of the program.

And how many people are we talking about? According to Ambev, the initial expectation is to assist around 23,000 recyclers and street vendors. All funds raised through this initiative will be equally divided and distributed to the registered individuals.

In total, the brewery has allocated R$ 5 million for the initiative that will benefit professionals in the cities of São Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Belo Horizonte (MG), Recife and Olinda (PE), Florianópolis (SC), Brasília (DF), and Bahia.
