The actual debt presented in the plan was more than R$ 50 billion, including a labor debt of R$ 82.9 million and a result fraud of R$ 25.2 billion at the end of 2022.
In the numbers regarding the third quarter of 2024, even with the closures of Americanas, the company reported a profit of R$ 10.3 billion, reversing a loss of R$ 1.63 billion seen in the same period of the previous year. Strategy of Lojas Americanas in the Northeast
Americanas closes more than 200 stores, and with plans in 2025, the retailer, which already has more than 1,600 stores in over 800 Brazilian municipalities, plans to expand even further, focusing on the Northeast region. This expansion plan will initially be implemented moderately.
Americanas plans not only to invest in the expansion of physical sales points but also to expand its portfolio of financial services and resume credit options that were previously accessible on the company’s platforms. For this expansion projected for this year, the retailer plans to open few units in the Northeast and possibly in the Midwest, in order to test the concept and flow.
