Well, it has already started, and now there is no turning back. Andrade Gutierrez finally begins the construction work of the Thermoelectric Plant at Porto do Açu in São João da Barra-RJ. At this moment, there are 70 collaborators involved in this project during the preparatory phase, leveling the land for the UTE installation. In early 2018, Gás Natural Açu, a subsidiary of Prumo Logística, announced that it sanctioned the hiring of the consortium between Siemens and Andrade Gutierrez for the construction of the Thermoelectric Plant with over 1.2 gigawatts of installed capacity at the port. The main goal of the port is to export the pre-salt production from the Santos Basin to the thermoelectric plant, making it self-sufficient in energy production and also providing space for LNG processing and storage.
