Even After the Arrival of the New Generation, the Nissan Kicks Play Still Represents 59% of SUV Sales in Brazil for the Nissan Kicks. Discover the Reasons for Its Success.

The Nissan Kicks Play remains the brand’s great asset in Brazil. Despite the recent launch of the new generation, in August 2025 the older model accounted for 59% of Kicks sales, according to a report from consulting firm Jato Dynamics.

There were 2,816 units of the Kicks Play compared to 1,924 of the new SUV, totaling 4,740 registrations for the month.

The preference for the older model can be explained by the more affordable price and the already established trust among consumers.

Meanwhile, the New Kicks has starting prices from R$ 164,990, a factor that limits its popularity in the national market.

Nissan Kicks Play Outruns Internal Competition

Even with the arrival of the new generation, the Nissan Kicks Play continues to be the favorite version among Brazilians.

Of the nearly five thousand vehicles sold in August, the older model alone accounted for more than half, making it clear that consumers’ wallets still weigh heavily in their choice.

According to experts, the competitive price and good reputation of the Kicks Play justify this leadership, while the new model is still seeking to gain ground.

Position in the Overall Sales Ranking

In the ranking of the most sold SUVs in Brazil in August, the Nissan Kicks occupied the 6th position, surpassed by the Toyota Corolla Cross, which surprisingly led the segment.

In the overall ranking of automobiles, the Kicks ranked 12th, just below the Chevrolet Tracker.

This performance reinforces the model’s strength in the market, even facing significant direct competitors like the Volkswagen T-Cross and Jeep Renegade.

Why Does the Nissan Kicks Play Still Captivate?

Journalist Flavio Silveira pointed out that the new Kicks has cutting-edge attributes that could even serve as a benchmark for the industry.

However, the high price hinders the model’s expansion in Brazil.

In contrast, the Nissan Kicks Play remains a trusted choice, thanks to its reputation, more competitive prices, and packages that meet the needs of the average consumer.

This combination explains why the older version still dominates sales.

The current scenario shows that the Nissan Kicks Play remains strong in the market, even in the face of a newer, more modern, and powerful generation.

The price difference and the history of reliability explain why it represents almost 60% of sales.

While the New Kicks seeks to win over the public with technology and sophistication, the older model continues to be the preferred option for those who value cost-effectiveness.

Thus, Nissan maintains a market strategy that caters to two distinct consumer profiles, ensuring space on the best-seller lists.
