22 Companies Submitted Their Proposals to the Pro Trilhos Program Through the Railway Legal Framework. The Construction Projects for New Railways Are Planned for All Over Brazil in the Coming Years.

The Federal Government’s Pro Trilhos program, which aims to encourage and expand the national railway network, has 48 requests for new railways across Brazil. The approval of the Railway Legal Framework opened the way for the submission of dozens of construction projects in the national territory. About 22 companies are waiting for the next steps in the requests to proceed with the projects.

The private initiative is seeking new railway construction projects in Brazil, with the Pro Trilhos program receiving 48 proposals from 22 companies across the country.

Filed with the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra), the requests amount to R$ 186.94 billion in investments and represent an increase of 15,013.42 kilometers to the railway network in the country.

With the requests made through the Railway Legal Framework, the proposals will pass for review at the National Land Transport Secretariat (SNTT), after which the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) will analyze the feasibility of developing the new networks.

Now, the 22 companies can only wait for updates regarding the proposals submitted to the Federal Government.
