“The acquisition of CVI Refrigerantes is very important for the growth of Coca-Cola Femsa’s business in Brazil. With this, we will cover all of Rio Grande do Sul, strengthening our presence in the southern region, which is strategic for the business, and consolidating our leadership position in the country”, said Ian Craig, CEO of Coca-Cola Femsa Brazil, in a statement.

Coca-Cola Also Closed Partnership With Estrella Galicia and Wants to Form Alliance With Andina to Receive the Artisan Beer Brand Therezópolis

In September, the Mexican company signed an agreement with Estrella Galicia to distribute Spanish beer in the South American giant, and also received the green light from the General Superintendence of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) to move forward with its alliance with Chilean Andina, to receive the artisan beer brand Therezópolis from Greenday.

In this sense, it is worth mentioning that CVI operates in the beverage segment through the production, sale, and distribution of products from The Coca-Cola Company, Heineken, Monster, and Leão Food and Beverages. It is a company founded in 1977, whose factory is located in Santa Maria, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and has distribution centers in Passo Fundo and Vale do Rio Pardo.

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Femsa is the largest company in the Coca-Cola system in terms of sales volume, with a portfolio of 129 leading brands across various categories. Another of its plans for 2022 is to exceed the US$ 1.8 million invested in environmental conservation, reforestation, treatment, and access to water projects in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay, company sources revealed.

In an interview with Efe, Rodrigo Brito, Sustainability Manager for the Southern Cone of Coca-Cola, highlighted that the company has been implementing global water replenishment initiatives since 2007, compensating for the resources used in a “growing” and “consistent” manner.

“Between 2021 and 2022, we will start and expand 14 conservation, reforestation, and water access projects in the six Southern Cone countries, which, together, will protect over 20,000 hectares, provide drinking water to 27,000 people and also promote integration and collaboration among 20 social organizations in the region”, explained Brito.

Additionally, there are another 14 projects already underway in the region.
