Ford’s CEO Has Ambitious Plans, Aiming to Make the Automaker the World’s Largest Electric Vehicle Manufacturer. Company Accelerates Production Rate to Build 600,000 Vehicles by 2024
After halting all vehicle production and closing factories in Brazil, the CEO of Ford announced in an interview with Fox Business that he wants to make the automaker one of the largest producers of electric vehicles in the world, if not the largest. Jim Farley, the company’s director, and the entire board of directors have ambitious plans for the century-old brand, but they will need the help of the U.S. government. Their investments and models assure the hope of producing over 600,000 electric vehicles by 2024.
