USP Offers Free Course On Language And Interpersonal Relationships. Starting In October 2024, Spots Are Limited. Sign Up!

Starting in October 2024, the course will be taught by the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages, and Human Sciences (FFLCH) at USP and aims to provide an in-depth understanding of how interpersonal relationships are constructed through language.

According to USP, the course uses Systemic-Functional Linguistics as a basis, addressing the various ways in which human interactions are shaped by and shape communication.

The course, titled “Language And Interpersonal Relationships”, has a duration of 14 hours and will take place over seven classes.

The classes are 100% online, streamed via Google Meet, and combine theoretical presentations with interactive discussions, allowing participants to bring real examples and issues to the debate.

According to FFLCH, the course content includes essential themes for understanding the relationship between language and social interactions.

Among the topics covered are social distance, institutional roles, and identity in the context of interpersonal relationships.

There are 100 spots available for the course, and enrollment is open until October 21, 2024, through the APOLO platform. The selection will be made by electronic lottery, scheduled to take place on October 22, 2024.
