When those sunny days come, it’s almost impossible to resist the call of the barbecue. It’s like a weekend sport: lighting the charcoal grill, grilling sausages or a good beef rib, and enjoying.

Although there are many types of grills, the flavor remains unique with charcoal. However, the charcoal grill also has disadvantages that deserve attention.

What Is A Charcoal Grill?

The charcoal grill is like the ancestor of modern grills.

Simple in appearance but full of culinary emotions.

It works with a bowl made of steel or cast iron, glowing charcoal, and a grate above to cook the food.

It is adored for its famous and inimitable smoky flavor.

Long And Sometimes Dangerous Preparation

Lighting the charcoal grill may seem idyllic, but in practice, it is laborious.

Newspaper that won’t catch fire, charcoal that won’t cooperate, and wind that complicates.

Everything requires patience. And to make matters worse, some use isopropyl alcohol to speed up the process, which is a serious mistake.

In other words, the fun can turn into a nightmare if there isn’t care in the art of fire.

Fire Control Is Complicated

Mastering a charcoal grill is no simple task.

Regulating temperature is almost an art. The flames lick the skewers, the embers crackle at the wrong time, and the result is often uneven.

It’s common to end up with steaks burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. Some like their meat rare, but for a juicy beef rib, charcoal is not very precise.

The solution is to maintain constant vigilance, always with a water sprayer nearby to calm the flames.

Laborious Cleaning

Finally, cleaning. After the party, the scrubbing marathon begins. The caked-on grease, ashes, and sticky grates require effort and time.

And let’s face it, no one wants to spend hours cleaning while others relax in the sun. Therefore, many people postpone the task, leading to the accumulation of residue and bacteria for the next barbecue. Not appetizing.

Disadvantages, But Also Advantages

Despite everything, the charcoal grill maintains a unique charm.

The smoky flavor, the cozy atmosphere, and the pleasure of handling fire are part of the experience. Between difficulties and successes, it remains the favorite of many.

In the end, those who are ready to face these disadvantages are rewarded with a summer barbecue that no other type can reproduce.
