Blockages on the Bypass of Greater Florianópolis
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the closure will occur due to the calibration of equipment in the tunnels of the Bypass of Greater Florianópolis, a critical point for anyone traveling along BR-101.
Drivers heading to or passing through this area between Monday, September 30, and Thursday, October 3, need to pay attention to the schedule, as closures will occur from 11 PM to 5 AM.
The closure will not be limited to BR-101. In addition to the main highway, access to the Bypass will also be closed, including connections with SC-407, SC-281, and BR-282.
Drivers will need to follow the original route of BR-101, which may create significant congestion and complicate the routine of those who rely on this road for daily commutes.
Closures at the Most Critical Points
The most critical closure points will be at Km 176, in Biguaçu, and Km 219, in Palhoça, two essential sections for the transport logistics of the region.
According to authorities, the calibration of the equipment is crucial to ensure safety and proper functioning of the highway, but this means those depending on traffic at these points should be prepared for alternative routes and possible delays.
New Closures in the Coming Days
But that’s not all! For those planning to travel in the following week, the news remains unfavorable. The closure will repeat on the days 7, 8, 9, and 10 of October, again at the same times, between 11 PM and 5 AM.
In other words, if you thought the disruptions would end soon, it’s better to prepare for more days of traffic interruption and seek alternatives in advance.
The PRF advises that drivers pay extra attention during the closure period, especially to avoid accidents on detours and alternative routes.
Those who do not follow the guidance risk facing long queues and significant time loss.
Economic and Transportation Impact
Why are these closures so concerning? BR-101 is one of the main highways for the country’s cargo flow, linking various regions and facilitating the transportation of goods between states.
Any interruption, even temporary, can impact traffic and the local economy.
Additionally, the timing chosen for the closure, although at night, coincides with important travel times, especially for truck drivers and freight carriers who opt for nighttime travel to avoid heavier daytime traffic.
The Bypass of Greater Florianópolis, inaugurated with the promise of reducing congestion, now finds itself as a site for maintenance and technical adjustments, leading many to question whether improvements made in the past truly meet expectations.
How to Prepare for the Closures on BR-101
Therefore, if you usually travel through these sections or know someone who needs to, it’s essential to spread this information and alert others about the closures.
Plan alternative routes, check the best travel times, and stay alert for any new notices from the authorities.
But what about you? Do you think this type of closure is justified? Or could the economic and social impact caused by these works have been avoided with more efficient planning? Leave your opinion in the comments and join this discussion!
