More Than 170 Thousand Retirees, Pensioners, and Beneficiaries of INSS Will Receive Values from Closed Cases, After Release of R$ 2.6 Billion by the Federal Justice Council.

The Federal Justice Council (CJF) authorized the payment of R$ 2,657,415,373.56 in overdue INSS payments, related to cases with final decisions until September 2025. The amount will be distributed to 172,818 beneficiaries, who won 128,064 legal actions for granting or reviewing retirements, pensions, and assistance, as well as claims related to the Continuous Provision Benefit (BPC).

According to the Jornal de Brasília portal, the payments correspond to the so-called Small Value Requests (RPVs), which cover claims of up to 60 minimum wages, equivalent to R$ 91,080 this year. The transfer represents one of the largest releases of judicial resources of the year and marks an important stage for insured individuals who were waiting for the final closure of their cases.

Who Is Entitled to Receive the Overdue INSS Payments

Insured individuals who sued INSS, won the case, and have no pending appeals are entitled to the payment.

It is necessary that the judicial payment order was issued in September 2025, and that the case was recognized as an RPV, meaning it is within the limit of 60 minimum wages.

The actions include both social security benefits, such as retirements and pensions, and assistance benefits, such as the BPC intended for low-income elderly and disabled individuals.

After the CJF’s release, each Regional Federal Court (TRF) is responsible for making the deposits according to its internal schedule.

Payments are made through accounts opened in the name of the beneficiary or their lawyer at Caixa Econômica Federal or Banco do Brasil.

The deposit process, known as the processing stage, takes an average of one week after the official release.

How to Check If the Value Has Been Released

The insured individual can monitor the status of their payment directly on the website of the court responsible for the case.

In the case of São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul, the inquiry is conducted by the TRF of the 3rd Region, at the address trf3.jus.br.

To check if there are available amounts, simply provide the CPF, the case number, or the lawyer’s OAB.

The system indicates whether the amount is processing, released, or already paid. When the payment is completed, the page displays the message “Total Paid to the Court”.

The same procedure applies for inquiries in other TRFs, which cover all regions of the country: DF, GO, TO, MT, BA, PI, MA, PA, AM, AC, RR, RO, and AP (TRF-1); RJ and ES (TRF-2); RS, PR, and SC (TRF-4); PE, CE, AL, SE, RN, and PB (TRF-5); and MG (TRF-6).

Distribution of Resources by Region

The R$ 2.6 billion released is divided among the six TRFs that make up the Federal Justice.

The largest share went to the 1st Region, which covers the Federal District and 12 other states, totaling R$ 1.02 billion, of which R$ 862 million is from social security actions.

Next, the 4th Region (RS, PR, and SC) received R$ 699 million, followed by the 3rd Region (SP and MS), with R$ 446 million, and by the 2nd Region (RJ and ES), with R$ 312 million. The 5th Region (Northeast) was allocated R$ 399 million, while the 6th Region (MG) received R$ 258 million.

Together, these amounts ensure the payment of more than 170 thousand insured individuals who were awaiting the closure of their legal cases, resolving old issues between the INSS and beneficiaries across the country.

What Are RPVs and Why Did They Not Become Precatórios

The Small Value Requests (RPVs) are a faster form of payment for judicial decisions, aimed at cases with amounts up to 60 minimum wages.

When the amount exceeds this limit, the case turns into a precatório, paid only once a year, usually in the second semester.

Therefore, beneficiaries classified as RPV receive the money in monthly batches, shortly after the release of funds by the CJF.

This systematic process ensures greater agility for insured individuals whose rights have been recognized in lower value actions.
