Geely Owner of Volvo and Other Brands, Announced the Arrival of a New Cheap Electric Car Priced at 31,900 Yuans, which is around R$ 22 thousand.
Geely, the Chinese manufacturer, after taking Volvo out of Ford’s hands, embracing Lotus and Proton, creating a bunch of brands and even new divisions, has now revived a local brand. Founded in 2014 but went bankrupt in 2019, Zhidou returns to the market with a cheap electric car priced at 31,900 yuans, or converting to our currency: R$ 22 thousand.
Cheap Electric Car from the Owner of Volvo Promises to Undercut Major Brands
Called the Zhidou Rainbow, the cheap mini electric car will be sold only in China in several versions, with prices ranging from 31,900 yuan to 43,900 yuan, which translates to a price range in reais from R$ 22,689 to R$ 31,224.
It is worth mentioning that there are no sales plans for the model in Brazil, however, with an average price like this, it would be very well accepted by the public. The popular electric car is almost a miniature, measuring only 3.22 meters in length. In other words, it is 32 cm shorter than a Fiat Mobi, which is a very small model.

Ducati brings to Brazil the Superleggera V4 Centenario: 228 hp that become 247 with a track kit, carbon fiber and carbon-ceramic brakes, estimated price between R$ 1.5 and 2 million, deliveries only in 2027.
The new Geely electric car is 1.51 m wide and 1.63 m tall, meaning it is taller than it is wide, which significantly compromises its stability. The wheelbase measures 2.10 m. Despite being tiny, Geely will offer the mini electric car in three or four-seater versions.

The wheels range from 13 to 15 inches, depending on the version. Additionally, the cheap electric car from the owner of Volvo comes in seven different body colors, all in pastel shades that match the cuter aura of its design.
New Popular Electric Car Features a 205 km Range
Inside, the new model from the owner of Volvo features a fully digital 5-inch instrument panel and a 9-inch multimedia center. Since the cabin is too small, the multimedia center is slightly offset to the passenger side so that the steering wheel fits within the cabin of the Zhidou Rainbow. Being minuscule, its performance is also minor. The low-cost mini electric car has two motor options.

The entry-level version delivers 27 hp and 8.7 kgfm of torque, while the top model reaches 40 hp and 12.8 kgfm. The batteries range from 9.98 kWh with a 125 km range, 17.18 kWh with a 201 km range, and 17.3 kWh with a 205 km range.
Zhidou plans to launch eight cars over the next five years. In total, the brand will have 16 models, and it is likely that all will be miniature electric cars.
Geely Also Focuses on Hybrid Cars
Geely recently announced a new generation of its hybrid vehicle system, the Geely Raytheon Hybrid Platform, which will be launched later this year. With this new platform for producing hybrid vehicles, the company promises a significant leap in terms of range and fuel consumption, with a maximum combined range of over 2,000 km and a fuel consumption of only 2 liters of gasoline every 100 km.
According to the Chinese brand itself, the new generation of hybrid vehicle production platform has achieved a thermal efficiency of 46%, one of the highest rates in the world. This achievement was presented during the disclosure of Geely’s annual results for 2023, where the company also highlighted its ambition to become a global leader in hybrid engine technology.
