Check out all the details of the new production platform at Geely which promises to double the range of gasoline cars to travel up to 100 km using just 2 liters of fuel.
Geely, the Chinese giant of automotive sector, recently announced a new generation of its system for hybrid cars, the Geely Raytheon Hybrid Platform, which will be released later this year. With this new platform for the production of hybrid cars, the company promises a big leap in terms of range and fuel consumption, with a maximum combined range of over 2 km and a consumption of just 2 liters of gasoline per 100 km.
According to Geely itself, the new generation of the platform for producing hybrid cars achieved a thermal efficiency of 46%, one of the highest rates in the world. This achievement was presented during the release of Geely's 2023 annual results, where the company also highlighted its ambition to become a global leader in hybrid engine technology.
Platform for producing hybrid cars will feature major advances technological
The Geely Raytheon Hybrid Platform was launched in 2021 and already equips several of the brand's models, such as the Geely Xingyue L Hi-X and the Lynk & Co 01 EM-P. The new generation of the hybrid car production platform will bring further advances, such as a more efficient engine, a 3-speed DHT Pro transmission and the ability to remotely update software (OTA) for the entire hybrid system.

Geely also announced that, in addition to Volvo, it has already entered into partnerships with other luxury brands and renowned automakers to supply its hybrid system. This strategy aims to expand the presence of Geely's technology in the global market, including through its brands such as Volvo and Zeerk, where the latter is expected to begin operations in Brazil soon.
Geely brand announces new battery
In addition to the announcement of this new platform for producing Geely's hybrid cars, Zeekr, mentioned previously, revealed in December last year a new LFP battery pack that enables ultra-fast charging.
Entirely developed in-house, the new LFP battery It recovers a range of 500 km in just 15 minutes, thanks in part to an 800V electrical system. The company claims that the charging performance of the new batteries “outperforms that of several competitors”, even in low winter temperatures.
The new technology was produced at a Geely-owned battery factory in China's Zhejiang province and debuted in the Zeekr 007 sedan. new electric car was launched in China and is equipped with a 75,6 kWh LFP battery that allows for a range of almost 700 km using the CLTC cycle. Zeekr's in-house developed package is produced by Quzhou Jidian EV Tech, a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group.
BYD also advances with platform for producing hybrid cars
The largest manufacturer of hybrid and electric cars in the world, with more than 3 million cars sold in 2023, BYD will launch the fifth generation of its DM-i plug-in hybrid platform this year, which is the basis of SongPlus sold in Brazil. The objective is to achieve a range of close to 2 km per tank.
The DM hybrid platform was launched in 2008 and the current generation was released in 2021, with autonomy figures approaching 1.200 km. Furthermore, there are two configurations with different proposals. Hybrid cars on the DM-i platform use the support of electric motors to focus on fuel economy, while cars based on the DM-p platform use more powerful gasoline engines and their electric motors work to increase performance.
