Bracell was recognized for its remarkable contributions to diversity and inclusion in the corporate environment, thus winning the prestigious Ser Humano Award 2024. This result demonstrates the company’s commitment to establishing an organizational culture that values and respects individual differences, promoting a workplace that encourages mutual respect and strengthens bonds among employees.
Bracell’s special recognition is due to its innovative diversity and inclusion initiatives, which aim to create a continuous journey of transformation and awareness within the professional space. This diversity and inclusion project not only values equity but also encourages engagement and active participation from all its members, fostering an environment that stimulates creativity and innovation. Thus, the company not only celebrates the achievement but reaffirms its commitment to a more inclusive and equitable future for all. Bracell’s effort to strengthen its internal policies reflects the importance of promoting values such as tolerance and respect within the corporate landscape.
Recognition and Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
For the second consecutive year, Bracell was awarded the Ser Humano Luiz Tarquínio Award, promoted by ABRH Bahia, in the ‘Young’ category. This recognition is due to the excellent development of the ‘Diversity and Inclusion Journey,’ a project that generated significant actions to transform the workplace into a more equitable, respectful, and engaged sphere. Matheus Coutinho Leal, the senior HR analyst and mind behind the diversity and inclusion project, attended the award ceremony held at the Commercial Association of Bahia in Salvador on Thursday, the 21st.

In 2023, Matheus also gained prominence with the ‘Academic Journey’ project.
Sustainable Impacts of Diversity and Inclusion
The project is a key component in Bracell’s sustainability and ESG strategies, aligned with the Bracell 2030 plan, as detailed in the Annual Sustainability Report. This commitment solidifies the mission to empower lives both internally and externally to the organization. According to Carolina Linhares, senior HR manager, the Ser Humano Award not only reinforces the company’s commitment to innovative practices but also recognizes the tireless efforts of professionals who make Bracell a reference in diversity and inclusion initiatives that develop talents and attract new employees.
In addition to success in the ‘Young’ category, Bracell was a finalist in the ESG – Environment category, recognized for its practices in waste recovery in the Ecological Restoration Program. Angela Ribeiro, sustainability manager, emphasizes that the company aims for innovative solutions in the sustainability chain, from sustainable eucalyptus cultivation to its processing. The project seeks to increase the resilience of ecosystems, favoring the recovery of degraded areas and environmental conservation.
Environmental Initiatives and Sustainable Innovation
Bracell’s Ecological Restoration Program, led by Joedson dos Santos Silva, Luan Philip, and Igor Macedo, began in 2006 with the analysis of degraded areas. Since then, it has adapted to new approaches in the management of waste from forestry and industrial operations, including seedling substrate residues and eucalyptus bark, knots, lime sludge, and mud. The first test occurred in the Sobrado Rock Project, and the second is underway in the São Sebastião Project.
With the beginning of soil shaping in 2021, eucalyptus seedling residues were incorporated into the soil in 2022. In 2023 and 2024, monitoring showed 90% ground coverage by grasses, erosive stabilization, and seedlings growing an average of 136.42 cm in height. The second experiment uses bark, sludge, and other materials combined in six distinct treatments to analyze improvements. The next steps involve decompaction, incorporation of waste into the soil, and planting native species.
Bracell and Its Global Role
