CCS Brazil Highlights The Country As A Force In Carbon Capture And Storage
At the upcoming COP 28, a global UN event dedicated to climate change, CCS Brazil, a pioneering entity in promoting Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) solutions, will make a notable presentation. The conference, which will take place in Dubai from November 30 to December 12, is a platform where experts and world leaders discuss strategies against global warming. Representing Brazil, Isabela Morbach and Nathalia Weber, co-founders of CCS Brazil, will present a panel on December 11, highlighting national capabilities in the area of carbon removal.
Brazilian Panel On Carbon Removal
The panel titled “Brazilian Potential in Carbon Removal: NBS, BECCS, and DACCS in the Context of Climate Finance and Carbon Market” is one of the 113 selected presentations that will occur throughout the conference. This specific event will focus on how Brazil can lead in adopting NBS (Nature-Based Solutions), BECCS (Bioenergy Carbon Capture and Storage), and DACCS (Direct Air Capture and Carbon Storage) technologies, standing out in the carbon market and global climate finance.
CCS Brazil’s Mission At The Climate Forefront
CCS Brazil has the mission of catalyzing initiatives related to CCS in Brazil, encouraging collaboration among funders, industries, government, universities, and civil society. The goal is to develop a robust market for these essential technologies, which have the potential to capture CO2, transport it, and securely store it in underground geological formations, significantly contributing to the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions.
