Brazilian Navy competition opens 671 vacancies for men and women from all over Brazil

The Brazilian Navy has hundreds of vacancies open in its 2023 Sailor Apprentice competition. Approved candidates will receive a BRL 1,3 grant and various benefits.

This week, the Brazil's navy announced the opening of a new competition for Apprentice Sailors. In total, there are 671 vacancies for men and women aged 18 and under 22 on June 30, 2024. candidates cannot be married or have children or legal dependents. The training course of Sailor Apprentice 2023 will be applied in schools for apprentice sailors in Ceará, Santa Catarina and Vila Velha. Subscribers can choose between the sectors of Mechanics, Electronics and Mechanics.

Those approved in the contest will receive a grant in the amount of R$ 1.303

O Apprentice Sailor course 2023 it will be free and on a boarding basis, lasting 48 weeks, approximately 11 months. During this period, those approved in the course will have basic education content and Military-Naval education.

In relation to the sector of the course, even if the enrollee has informed his preference in the registration, the service will depend on the interest and availability of the Brazil's navy. We separate below the distribution of vacancies and respective courses:

School of Seafarers Apprentices of Ceará:

  • 113 vacancies for the support sector, 104 for electronics and 104 for mechanics.

School of Sailor Apprentices of Santa Catarina:

  • 51 for the mechanics area, 51 for electronics and 51 for support.

Vila Velha Sailor Apprentice School:

  • 95 vacancies for the electronics sector, 80 for Support and 51 for Mechanics.

There will also be, to those approved in the contest, the payment of a scholarship in the amount of R$ 1.303,90, an amount that corresponds to R$ 143,65 of the military additional, R$ 55,25 of the additional for military availability, as determined legislation, in addition to the corresponding amount of R$ 1.105.

It is important to mention that uniform, food, medical, psychological, dental, social and religious assistance are provided by the Brazilian Navy.

Entries for the 2023 sailor apprentice competition remain open until February 12 at Brazilian Navy Personnel Selection Service page. Interested parties must pay a fee of BRL 40 reais by February 16, preferably at the branches of Banco do Brasil, Santander, Bradesco, Itaú and CEF.

The announcement informs that those enrolled in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Social Government (CadÚnico) with monthly family income per person equal to or less than half the national minimum wage can request the fee exemption, through the specific application, between January 30 and February 3rd. The exemption request can also be made by registered letter.

In this case, the candidate must send the required documentation to the Navy Selection Service – Registration Division, located at Rua Visconde de Itaboraí, nº 69, in the center of Rio de Janeiro (RJ), CEP: 20.010-060. The list of approved and rejected requests will be available at the Organization Responsible for Local Execution (OREL) and on the pages of the SSPM on February 13th.

The first stage of the selection process will be through an objective test, of a classifying and eliminatory nature. The test will have 55 general knowledge questions about the disciplines of Science (Physics and Chemistry), Portuguese, Mathematics and English.

After the exam, verification of biographical data, physical aptitude test for entry, health inspection, Heteroidentification Complementary to Self-Declaration procedure (only for those who declared themselves black), psychological evaluation and verification of documents will be carried out.
