The United States Consulate in Rio de Janeiro announced a job opening for the position of Electrician – Electrical Maintenance Worker. This opportunity is aimed at professionals with proven experience in electrical maintenance, offering an annual salary of R$ 70,032.00.

The position requires a workload of 40 hours per week, with permanent employment, subject to a probationary period. The vacancy is open to all interested parties, regardless of their background, and is an excellent opportunity for those wishing to work in one of the country’s main diplomatic representations.

Selected candidates will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on the electrical systems of the Consulate, covering both the main building’s installations and associated residential properties, including owned and rented properties.

The job involves performing tasks such as installing electrical wiring, maintaining power generators, and making adjustments to ensure that all systems operate safely and efficiently. The position requires the professional to have a proactive approach and be able to handle emergency situations, such as critical failures in the electrical system.

Requirements and responsibilities at the U.S. Embassy

In addition to electrical maintenance functions, the Electrician will also be responsible for conducting regular inspections of the electrical systems of the Consulate’s facilities, identifying potential risks and taking necessary measures to ensure safety.

The professional will use equipment such as voltmeters and multimeters to test the compatibility and safety of the systems. It will also be necessary to collaborate in the execution of occupational safety and health programs, as directed by the Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer.

Requirements for the position include a completed high school education, practical experience in repairs and maintenance of electrical systems, and basic knowledge of English.

For the candidate to be considered eligible for the position, they will need to undergo a background investigation, as the position requires a public security clearance.
