Block Belonged to Anadarko and Is the Second Transfer Made by Anadarko to British BP in 2 Months in the Campos Basin
The British oil company BP, through its subsidiary BP Energy, will operate another asset that was owned by Anadarko. The ANP approved last Thursday (09/26), the transfer of the operation and 10.714% of Anadarko’s stake in block BM-C-30, in the Campos Basin.
This was not the only transfer from Anadarko, as the ANP also approved the transfer of 10.714% of its stake in the block to IBV. After Anadarko Was Acquired by Occidental Petroleum, the American oil company had portions of its second concession transferred in less than 2 months.
In August, Anadarko had already transferred the operation of block BM-C-32 to BP Energy.

The ANP also approved the change of ownership in the block, granted in the sixth round of the ANP, from Total Energia to Total E&P.
Now block BM-C-30 is comprised as follows: BP Energy, operator with 35.71%, IBV (35.71%), Total E&P (20%), and Anadarko (8.57%).
It is worth noting that Anadarko was negotiating with Chevron and had the deal “interfered” by Occidental Petroleum, which made an offer 70% higher for the American oil company. The two companies had already signed a purchase agreement, but the deal was ultimately closed with Occidental Petroleum.
In August, BP Energy took over the operation of BM-C-32, which was also a concession from Anadarko.
