In this way, the data from Petrobras’ competitor shows that production in Rio Grande do Norte declined by 30% compared to the previous year.
Even with a small growth, the oil company continues to experience a constant decrease in its production capacity in the state.
If it succeeds in finalizing the purchase and sale transaction of 22 land and offshore fields in the Potiguar Pole with the state-owned company, 3R Petroleum will operate in the following poles: Macau Pole, Areia Branca Pole, and Pescada Pole.
It is currently the main competitor of Petrobras for its replacement in the oil and gas market of Rio Grande do Norte.
Despite this, the poles it will operate exhibit a strong decline trend in production in recent months.
The Macau Pole is currently experiencing a 34.7% decrease over the year. The Areia Branca Pole saw a decline of 1% between November and December. Finally, the Pescada Pole is facing a production decrease of 7.3% between November and December.
In this way, the company is preparing for a period of instability in replacing Petrobras in the state.
The Company Entered The Rio Grande Do Norte Market In 2018 And Is Currently The Big Bet To Replace Petrobras In The Oil And Gas Production
3R Petroleum entered the Potiguar market back in 2018, when it was a microenterprise in the oil and gas sector.
It was announced by Petrobras as the winner of the auction for the acquisition of 34 oil fields in the Riacho da Forquilha Pole (RN), with a bid of US$ 453.1 million.
Despite this, it was denounced by the Union of Oil Workers of RN (SINDIPETRO-RN) at the time.
According to the agency, what is at stake in the bidding processes among the companies is the requirement for minimally necessary qualifications to operate dozens of mature oil fields and the investment capacity to maintain production at satisfactory levels while exploring new areas.
Despite the controversies involving the union and the production declines in the state, 3R Petroleum remains the main candidate to replace Petrobras in Rio Grande do Norte.
