Aiming to bring the countries even closer together by uniting their strengths in the segment, IBP and CCBC established a cooperation agreement focused on the oil and natural gas sector.
The signing of the agreement took place last week. It was attended by major figures in the segment, such as the President of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates, and was held in Rio de Janeiro.
-
Petrobras buys 75% of Oranto and becomes the operator of block 3 in São Tomé and Príncipe, resuming its strategy in Africa to diversify its portfolio and replenish oil and gas reserves.
-
China inaugurates a new era by signing a $5.1 billion project to expand one of the largest gas fields on the planet, adding 10 billion m³ per year and reinforcing an energy mechanism that already moves 30 billion m³ annually towards its market.
-
While the world felt the pinch of rising oil prices, oil companies pocketed at least $23 billion extra from the crisis in Ormuz.
-
Oil plummets more than 10% and the market turns upside down after Iran opens Hormuz and eases fears about the main route in the Gulf.
The President of IBP, Roberto Ardenghy, emphasized the importance of the cooperation agreement with Canada for future oil and natural gas projects.
He reinforced the technological and environmental advancements that the country has been achieving in recent years in the segment. This agreement also ensures a bolder outlook for the future of the international market with Brazil.
Meanwhile, the Director of Institutional Relations of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CCBC), Paulo de Castro Reis, celebrated CCBC’s 50th anniversary, which will be commemorated alongside the new cooperation agreement.
“We created the Brazil Hub in Montreal and Edmonton to facilitate the internationalization of Brazilian companies in Canada, enabling access to innovation and research, and the establishment of partnerships to foster business and investment. The two countries have many synergies. Working together with IBP, we want to help bring the Brazilian and Canadian oil and gas ecosystems even closer,” he stated.
Current Petrobras President, Jean Paul Prates, Emphasizes The Importance Of Brazil-Canada Unity For Future Oil And Gas Market Projects
Jean Paul Prates, the new president of Petrobras, highlighted the relevance of the cooperation agreement between IBP and CCBC at present.
He believes that both countries share common traits in the fuel sector, bringing them even closer.
There is also the possibility of cooperation between the two countries in the development of offshore wind generation projects (an area where the oil and gas industry can leverage its extensive experience with maritime installations).
Brazil is becoming one of the biggest bets in the international oil and natural gas market regarding the potential for offshore wind production.
Thus, the new cooperation agreement paves the way for these and other exploration activities in the segment.
Finally, the Consul of Canada, David Verbiwski, reinforced that Canada and Brazil have a history of cooperation in several industrial projects.
For them, the new agreement once again demonstrates the interest of both nations in a more profitable future in the sector.
Now, IBP and CCBC will leverage the cooperation agreement for future projects in the oil and natural gas sector.
