Offshore Reaction Expanding Outside Rio in 2024
The third edition of Offshore Reaction, a free training course aimed at preparing professionals for the offshore sector, will be held in 2024. This year, for the first time, classes will open outside the state of Rio de Janeiro, expanding to Espírito Santo. Sponsored by PRIO, Brazil’s largest independent oil and gas company, the qualification program will offer 60 spots for individuals in social vulnerability.

To participate in the training course, interested individuals must be registered in CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs), have completed high school and be over 18 years old. Furthermore, residents from other regions in the state who meet the eligibility criteria can also apply for Offshore Reaction. Recently, program representatives, along with regional supporters, visited six communities in Espírito Santo, such as Consolação, Jesus de Nazaré, Morro da Garrafa, Guricica, Itararé, and Bonfim, to clarify doubts and carry out registrations directly in these locations.
The Offshore Reaction is the result of a partnership between Todos na Luta, Instituto Reação, and Firjan SENAI, with the essential participation of PRIO. The aim is to train workers for the offshore sector, forming professionals with the necessary technical and emotional skills for the demands of the oil and gas segment. This benefits not only the progress of the sector but also the integration of qualified labor in the market.
PRIO is committed to localizing the course, ensuring that more people benefit. Since the creation of the Offshore Reaction program, the company has already hired 90 of the 300 graduates, demonstrating a high absorption rate of trained talents.
Selection Process and Course Benefits
All registered individuals will initially participate in an online test. Those who pass will take an in-person exam at SENAI Vitória for the final selection stage. Classes will begin on October 14 and will run until mid-December, totaling 160 hours of training. Activities will occur five times a week, from 6 PM to 10 PM, with socio-emotional classes on some Saturdays.
To assist with subsistence throughout the course, students will receive a monthly scholarship of R$ 700, totaling R$ 2,100, in addition to complete exemption from course fees at SENAI, which includes technical and socio-emotional subjects. The course will be part of a meticulous qualification program, focusing on operational efficiency, safety of operations, and environmental preservation.
