The House of Winds Has a Pre-Contract Signed with Comerc to Implement Its Ammonia and Green Hydrogen Production Unit at the Pecém Complex in the State of Ceará.
On Monday (5), The House of Winds and Comerc Eficiência signed a pre-contract with the Pecém Complex (Cipp S/A), in Ceará, for the installation of a green hydrogen and ammonia production unit, with its first phase scheduled to begin operations in 2026. Subsequently, the environmental licensing and basic project phase will follow to initiate installation, which will be divided into stages.
Green Hydrogen Production Unit Will Cover 60 Hectares
The venture by The House of Winds will have a capacity of up to 2.4 GW of electrolysis, generating more than a thousand tons of hydrogen daily, allowing for the delivery of 2.2 million tons of green ammonia annually.
Previously, Comerc Eficiência and The House of Winds had already closed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Ceará and another with the Pecém Complex (CIPP S/A) to ensure their leadership in the project.

Researchers discover a possible hydrogen deposit of up to 46 million tons beneath an ancient coal basin, and the volume could exceed half of the entire global production.
The signing of the pre-contract represents the overcoming of yet another stage. The green ammonia and hydrogen production unit, which will occupy an area of up to 60 hectares in the ZPE Ceará, aims to avoid the monthly emission of up to 430 thousand tons, by generating green fuel instead of gray hydrogen, which emits 2.4 kg of CO2 for every kg of gray ammonia produced, thus resulting in a significant reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
According to the director of new business at The House of Winds, Lucas Araripe, Ceará is located in a region with efficient and abundant energy resources, along with a strategic position for foreign trade. These factors enable the export of its clean energy in the form of green fuels much more competitively on a global scale.
Pecém Complex Hydrogen Hub Has 24 Memorandums
According to the President of Comerc Eficiência, Marcel Haratz, it is a great pleasure to have the company at the forefront of such an innovative project that is moving towards a sustainable economy, opening new possibilities for wealth generation for Brazil and creating thousands of jobs.
This is the third pre-contract signed for the Pecém Complex Hydrogen Hub, which already has another 24 memorandums of understanding signed with Brazilian and foreign companies. According to the president of the Pecém Complex, Danilo Serpa, the company is very pleased with the signing of this pre-contract with The House of Winds and Comerc.
This being the third pre-contract finalized for the large-scale green hydrogen production in Brazil. It is a recognition of the essential companies in the market, meaning more players are joining this strategic energy transition project that has been developed in the state of Ceará since the beginning of last year. The Pecém Green Hydrogen Hub is a reality.
Pernambuco and Ceará Also Concentrate Investments in Ammonia and Green Hydrogen
The Camaçari Pole in the state of Bahia has a development project by Unigel to install a green hydrogen plant with expectations of starting operations as early as next year. The estimated investment in the venture is around US$ 120 million, aiming to generate a production capacity of 10 thousand tons annually.
In Pernambuco, the Suape Port is establishing green hydrogen production in a research and development segment and qualification through the innovation cluster. According to the director of Environment and Sustainability at the port, Carlos Cavalcanti, the company is very interested in pursuing imports.
