Top-of-the-Line Version of the Compact Hatch Gains Full LED Headlights, Digital Dashboard, New Multimedia Center and Adjustments to the 1.0 Turbo Engine

The new Chevrolet Onix Premier 2026 has already arrived at dealerships with several visual changes, new equipment and updates to the engine. The most complete version of the hatch now offers full LED headlights, an 8-inch digital dashboard, wireless charging and new interior finishes — elements that enhance its technological appeal without losing focus on cost-effectiveness.

With these updates, the Onix 2026 seeks to remain competitive against rivals such as Volkswagen Polo Highline, Peugeot 208 Turbo and Hyundai HB20 Platinum. Despite the improvements, the hatch maintained the same mechanical base and received minor adjustments to the engine to meet Proconve L8 requirements, with a slight loss of power and gain in efficiency.

LED Headlights and Redesigned Front

The 2026 model stands out with its new front featuring 100% LED headlights — including fog and DRL — and a redesigned grille, which now displays chrome elements and a more aggressive look. The bumper has also been revised, contributing to a more robust appearance.

In the Premier version, the hatch also receives a front parking sensor and a blind spot detector, as well as exterior finishes with 16-inch diamond-cut wheels, chrome trims and exclusive metallic paint.

Updated 1.0 Turbo Engine

The mechanical set continues with the familiar 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine, now recalibrated to meet current emission standards. As a result, power has dropped from 121 hp to 116 hp and torque to 16.3 kgfm on gasoline. Despite the loss of power, fuel consumption remains a highlight: 12.1 km/l in the city and 15.3 km/l on the highway, according to Inmetro.

The six-speed automatic transmission has been maintained and continues to provide good responses in urban and highway use. The front suspension has received calibration adjustments, improving comfort during daily driving.

More Modern and Connected Interior

The cabin of the new Chevrolet Onix Premier 2026 has been updated with a 11″ multimedia center with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a new 8″ digital dashboard integrated with the onboard computer, and leather upholstery with blue details and orange stitching.

Other highlights include:

  • Wireless Charging
  • Digital Air Conditioning
  • Steering Wheel with Multifunction Controls and Depth Adjustment
  • Keyless Entry with Push Button Start
  • 6 Airbags and Stability Control

Despite the technological advancement, the overall finish still retains areas with hard plastic and lacks items such as an electrochromatic rearview mirror and electronic parking brake.

Rear Space and Trunk

The Onix continues to offer good interior space for a compact hatch, especially in the rear area, which comfortably accommodates two adults. The trunk maintains its 275 liters of capacity, with a temporary spare tire under the floor. The Premier version adds two rear USB-C ports and headrests for all occupants.

Is the New Onix Premier 2026 Worth It?

With an estimated price of around R$ 130 thousand, the new Chevrolet Onix Premier 2026 delivers one of the most complete packages among compact hatches. Even with minor savings in finishing, the model stands out for its well-balanced set of technology, safety, fuel consumption and comfort.

Do you think the new Onix 2026 has really evolved? Or are there still improvements needed to justify the price? Leave your opinion in the comments — we want to know what those who use this car in their daily lives really think.
