Chevrolet, Hyundai, Honda and Toyota Models Stand Out for Low Depreciation, Efficient Consumption and Constant Demand in the Used Market, Offering Buyers Financial Security and Autonomy in Urban and Highway Routes.

The most sought-after sedans in the used market combine low value loss, moderate consumption, and high liquidity.

Between 2023 and 2025, five models from Chevrolet, Hyundai, Honda and Toyota recorded depreciation of up to 7.3%, according to average prices from the FIPE table, and feature efficient engines — with fuel consumption of up to 17 km/l in the most economical versions — and autonomy suitable for daily and highway use.

Selection Criteria: FIPE 2023–2025 and Focus on Liquidity

The comparison considered average values disclosed by FIPE in 2023, 2024, and 2025, observing the price evolution over the period and the percentage variation.

Models recognized for mechanical reliability, predictable maintenance costs, and good resale demand were prioritized.

The analysis includes versions widely available in the market and avoids very specific cuts that distort price behavior.

Chevrolet Onix Plus: Stable Price and Good Space

The Chevrolet Onix Plus has remained a consistent option among compact sedans.

Starting at R$ 118,490 in 2023, the average price dropped to R$ 106,133 in 2024 and was R$ 106,935 in 2025. The variation results in 9.7% depreciation over the observed period.

This trajectory, with a more pronounced drop in the first year and stabilization afterwards, tends to favor those who buy now thinking of reselling in the medium term.

The 1.0 turbo flex engine is often the highlight of the package as it delivers good performance at low revs and competitive consumption, especially on the road.

The interior space ranks among the model’s strengths, with a trunk suitable for family use and enough comfort for four adults on medium trips. This helps explain the continuous demand in the used market.

Hyundai HB20S: Simplicity, Cost of Use and Constant Demand

Another compact sedan that retains value well is the Hyundai HB20S. The average price dropped from R$ 92,690 in 2023 to R$ 80,920 in 2024, reaching R$ 81,826 in 2025.

The variation results in 11.7% depreciation over two years, a level that remains competitive compared to direct rivals.

The index reflects the good acceptance of the model in the main markets in the country. The HB20S proposal emphasizes simplicity and economy.

The external dimensions facilitate urban use without sacrificing trunk space, while the flex engines, when well driven, achieve consumption close to the segment ceiling.

In practice, the package pleases those looking for an honest sedan with predictable maintenance and a wide service network.

Honda City: Reference in Low Depreciation

Among the compact-medium sedans, the Honda City is a case of stability. The average price fluctuated from R$ 118,700 in 2023 to R$ 109,621 in 2024 and R$ 109,975 in 2025.

In total, the 7.3% depreciation is the lowest in this group. This performance reinforces the reputation for good resale that has long accompanied the Honda line.

Besides the reputation, the City delivers one of the best interior spaces in the category and a suspension setup aimed at comfort, without compromising efficiency.

The mechanical set emphasizes smooth operation and moderate consumption, favoring autonomy on mixed routes. This point is crucial for those who drive a lot during the week and plan trips on weekends.

Toyota Corolla: Hybrid and 2.0 with Solid Reputation

In the mid-size sedan segment, the Toyota Corolla remains solid in resale. The 2024 Altis Hybrid changed from R$ 187,790 in 2023 to R$ 167,144 in 2024 and R$ 172,994 in 2025. The result was 7.9% depreciation over the period.

The conventional Altis 2.0 presented 7.7% depreciation between 2023 and 2025. These contained indexes are consistent with the model’s tradition in the Brazilian market.

In the case of the hybrid, the combination of combustion and electric propulsion favors urban cycle consumption and allows achieving, under ideal conditions, averages close to the best in the segment.

The aspirated 2.0, in turn, offers linear performance and competitive consumption for a mid-size sedan, without additional maintenance complexities. In both, reputation and liquidity remain as strong points.

Toyota Yaris Sedan: Compact Robust and Presence Among App Drivers

Concluding the list, the Toyota Yaris Sedan maintains good demand in resales and platforms.

The average price receded from R$ 125,590 in 2023 to R$ 106,275 in 2024, with a slight rise to R$ 109,959 in 2025. In total, the 12.4% depreciation remains controlled among the compact sedans.

This occurs especially considering the high supply and intense use by app drivers, a group that values predictable consumption and durability.

The setup of the package favors easy driving, comfort on uneven surfaces, and competitive consumption with gasoline, along with known maintenance costs.

These factors explain the Yaris Sedan’s status as a frequent alternative for those who drive many kilometers per month and need to reduce fuel stops.

Consumption and Autonomy: What Does “Up to 17 km/l” Mean

The mention of up to 17 km/l reflects the peak efficiency possible in the more economical versions, under favorable driving conditions and with appropriate fuel.

In practice, real autonomy depends on the tank size, traffic, topography, driving mode, and the proportion of ethanol versus gasoline.

Nonetheless, the combination of modern 1.0 turbo engines, efficient tuning, and the aerodynamics of sedans helps maintain stable averages. This reduces the cost per kilometer traveled over time.

For the consumer, it’s worth observing the officially disclosed consumption in urban and highway cycles and comparing it with reports from owners in everyday use.

This verification tends to offer a more accurate picture of autonomy, especially for those who frequently alternate between city and highway segments.

What to Look for Before Sealing the Deal in 2025

Before deciding, it is advisable to confirm the maintenance history of the chosen unit.

Attention is needed for revisions at dealerships or trusted workshops, any recalls, and the state of wear on tires and brakes. Evaluating insurance and IPVA in your area helps to compose the real annual cost.

In highly sought-after sedans, a good due diligence report identifies structural repairs and avoids auction units or those with significant claims. These factors directly impact resale.

Another point is the version: equipment packages and transmission can affect both consumption and resale value. Intermediate versions usually balance purchase price and subsequent demand.

Meanwhile, top-of-the-line models concentrate on comfort and safety items that can make a difference for specific profiles of use.

Finally, the negotiation should consider local liquidity. Cities with a strong presence of fleets and apps, for example, tend to absorb economical compact sedans more quickly.

Markets where mid-size sedans hold greater prestige can favor models like the Corolla under better trade conditions.

In light of this scenario, which of these sedans delivers the best balance between purchase price, consumption, and resale for your use in 2025?
