Chevrolet Onix Plus: Performance and Consumption in Everyday Life
The Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021 is equipped with a 1.0 three-cylinder flex engine that delivers up to 82 hp of power.
In urban use, it meets needs well, offering enough agility for daily commutes and very competitive fuel consumption.
Although it is not a car aimed at sportiness, the model’s strengths are its economy and the balance between efficiency and accessible maintenance — two factors that weigh heavily in the decision of those looking for a reliable used car.
Generous Internal Space and Trunk
In terms of space, the Onix Plus proves adequate for its category.
The sedan comfortably accommodates four adults and also features a trunk of 469 liters, sufficient to meet families on trips or those who need to transport luggage frequently.

This loading capacity is among the differentials compared to some competitors, making it a rational choice for drivers who prioritize space and practicality without giving up a competitive price in the used car market.
Standard Equipment That Makes a Difference
Another highlight of the Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021 is the equipment package.
Even in the aspirated version, the model usually includes air conditioning, progressive electric steering, electric windows and locks, in addition to the MyLink multimedia center with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In terms of safety, the sedan offers six airbags and electronic stability and traction controls.
These items give the Onix Plus an advantage over direct rivals, reinforcing its prominent position among the most complete options of used cars in the category.
Where Does the Onix Plus Fall Short?
Despite its qualities, the Chevrolet Onix Plus 1.0 Manual presents points of attention. The engine, although efficient, can disappoint in acceleration and trips with the car loaded.
Owners also report concerns about the suspension durability on bumpy roads.

Moreover, there are reports of isolated electronic failures and the recall history of the first batches of the generation, which involved structural issues.
These factors may create insecurity for some more demanding buyers.
Price of the Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021 in the Used Market
According to the Fipe Table, the Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021 1.0 Manual has an average price of R$ 69,452.
In the used car market, prices range from R$ 63 thousand to R$ 82 thousand, depending on the condition, mileage, and maintenance history.
Well-maintained units, with low mileage and up-to-date maintenance, tend to approach the upper end of the range, being valued more by buyers attentive to provenance.
Direct Competitors in the Used Segment
In the market for compact sedans, the Onix Plus competes with the Fiat Cronos 1.3 Manual, which offers a larger trunk but loses out on safety.
Another relevant competitor is the Hyundai HB20S 1.0 aspirated, which bets on onboard technology.
The model also faces competition from the Volkswagen Voyage 1.6, known for its simple maintenance, and the Toyota Yaris Sedan 1.5, which charges more but delivers superior mechanical reliability.
Is It Worth Buying a Used Onix Plus?
The Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021 1.0 Aspirated Manual remains valued in the used car market.
Despite its modest performance and some reports of failures, it continues to be a rational option for those looking for an economical, safe compact sedan with a good equipment package.
With a wide technical assistance network from Chevrolet and good resale value, the model is an interesting choice for those who want a practical and balanced car without sacrificing reliability.
Care When Buying a Used Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021
The Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021 is one of the most sought-after compact sedans in the used market in Brazil.
However, before acquiring a used unit, it is essential to know the necessary precautions, the possible risks, and the most suitable places to find a unit in good condition.
The first step is to check the maintenance history.
The Onix Plus requires periodic maintenance at dealerships or specialized shops, especially the turbo engine, which needs quality oil and timely changes. Always request the stamped manual or invoices for services performed.
Another important point is the verification of the electrical and electronic systems.
The model comes with a MyLink multimedia center, sensors, and in some versions, advanced assistance systems. Test everything: connectivity, digital air conditioning, power windows, and headlights.
The structural inspection is also essential. Many used vehicles may have a history of collisions. In this case, take the car to a trusted mechanic or have a precautionary inspection done to check chassis alignment, paint, and possible poorly executed repairs.
Dangers and Points of Attention
Despite being a well-regarded car, the Onix Plus 2021 has already been involved in significant recalls, including defects in the calibration of the engine control module, engine management software, and others.
Therefore, it is essential to confirm on Chevrolet’s website or with Denatran if the vehicle in question has undergone all necessary servicing.
Another common risk when buying used cars is the odometer tampering. As the Onix Plus is popular among app drivers, some units may have high mileage.
Compare the mileage with the wear of the steering wheel, seats, and pedals to identify inconsistencies.
Additionally, be wary of offers significantly below market price, as they may indicate damaged vehicles, with irregular documentation or even dubious origins.
Where to Find a Used Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021?
There are different ways to look for the model:
- Chevrolet Dealerships: offer inspected vehicles with warranty, although the price may be slightly higher.
- Specialized websites and apps: platforms like OLX, Webmotors, and iCarros present a wide variety of options, allowing you to compare prices and conditions.
- Used car fairs: ideal for those looking to negotiate directly with dealers and have access to several units in one location.
- Private sellers: may offer lower prices, but require more caution in checking documents and car conditions.
Buying a used Chevrolet Onix Plus 2021 can be a great choice for those looking for a modern, comfortable, and economical sedan.
However, it is necessary to pay attention to mechanical care, checking recalls, and documentation.
With research and caution, it is possible to find good opportunities both at dealerships and online platforms, ensuring a safe and satisfactory investment.
