Chevrolet Spin’s Cheapest Version For Up To R$ 120 Thousand: Chevrolet Spin 2026 PCD Arrives With Dozens Of Standard Items And A Lot Of Embedded Technology.

The Chevrolet Spin 2026 has a new entry-level configuration, named simply AT, which starts at R$ 119,900. This price is not coincidental considering that, although available to any buyer, the cheapest version of the Chevrolet Spin focuses on the PCD audience, which can have total exemption from IPI and ICMS on cars up to R$ 120,000. However, the new rules will come into effect next year.

Competing with well-known vehicles among the PCD audience, such as Fiat Fastback, Jeep Renegade, and the Volkswagen T-Cross and Nivus Sense, the cheapest version of the Chevrolet Spin is well-equipped.

Standard, the model features an analog air conditioning system, LED headlights and taillights with height adjustment, cruise control, an 11-inch multimedia center with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, an 8-inch digital instrument panel, and embedded Wi-Fi with connection for up to 7 devices simultaneously.

In terms of safety, the Chevrolet Spin 2026 PCD has six airbags, hill start assist, and emergency braking alert; however, it lacks an ADAS package, with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot alert, among others. Some of these items are present in competitors such as Nivus Sense and T-Cross.

The model is always offered in a five-seat configuration, with black fabric seats, and on the outside, the alloy wheels are replaced by steel wheels covered with 15-inch hubcaps. The body has at least five color options: black, silver, gray, white, and blue. Images of the model have not yet been released.

Engine Of Chevrolet’s Minivan

Regarding mechanics, the Chevrolet Spin 2026 PCD is equipped with a 1.8 naturally aspirated engine delivering 111 horsepower and 17.7 kgfm of torque, always paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. According to tests, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 14.2 seconds on gasoline.

The engine of the cheapest version of the Chevrolet Spin now features a new electronic management module, with double the processing capacity and cold start control. The six-speed automatic transmission has also been recalibrated for smoother shifts.

Additionally, the 2026 model line will no longer offer Safari Green and Moss Gray, keeping only the colors Summit White, Shark Silver, Rush Gray, Black Gold, and Boreal Blue. All configurations measure 4.88 meters in length, 1.69 m in height, 1.95 m in width, and 2.62 m in wheelbase. However, the LT versions have an internal space division for five seats, while the LTZ and Premier options have seven seats.

Know The History Of The Chevrolet Spin In The Automotive Market

The history of the Chevrolet Spin dates back to the late 2000s when the brand was still successful in the family vehicle segment with the Zafira, a project Opel well-designed even with participation from Porsche, but which had become outdated and needed renewal. In Brazil, the Zafira arrived in early 2001, although in Europe it had been sold since the 1990s.

To replace it, there were three alternatives: bringing the second generation from the old continent, waiting for the arrival of the third generation, or creating a new minivan à la Brasileira. Completely developed in Brazil, and with design created by Carlos Barba, who also designed the Agile, Cobalt, Onix, Prisma, among others, the Spin was heavily inspired by the premium compact sedan Cobalt.

It used the Gamma II platform, or GSV, developed in South Korea, had unremarkable lines; however, it allowed the use of simple mechanics, reducing maintenance costs and increasing robustness. At its launch in June 2012, its family use and entirely national project were highlighted as virtues.

Um dos problemas crônicos da SPIN é em relação ao motor de partida. Frequentemente apresenta problemas. Em todas as versões, principalmente do ano de 2020 em diante.
