A new startup from China, known as Jemell New Energy, is preparing to enter the automotive market with its popular electric car called the Uni Mini EV. The vehicle has a range of up to 200 km and will be the newest competitor to the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, the current best-seller in China’s electric vehicle sector. The Lingbox Uni Mini EV is a three-door car designed to transport up to four people.

The vehicle is available in two trim levels with prices that can reach 38,800 and 49,900 yuan, which, in direct conversion, equates to R$ 27,900 and R$ 35,800.
The starting price of the Uni Mini EV is slightly above what is suggested to compete with its rival, but it is still very competitive when compared to Brazil and even for standards in China. In terms of looks, Jemell’s model definitely did not bring any innovations to the electric vehicle market, adopting the boxy standard seen in models like the Chery QQ Ice Cream, for example.
