The Meta, technology giant led by Mark Zuckerberg, laid off about 4 thousand employees this Monday (10). The decision is part of a strategic restructuring, prioritizing advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), as reported by the site IstoE Dinheiro.

Restructuring And Uncertainties At Meta

The layoffs were communicated via email, affecting employees in offices around the world. In a short time, the laid-off employees lost access to the company’s systems and were notified about their dismissals.

Although Meta has not commented on the impact in Brazil, Estadão reported that the company was contacted for clarifications. In the European Union, the layoffs faced temporary obstacles due to stricter labor laws.
