Change In Zip Code Takes Effect In Guaramirim, Corupá And Massaranduba And Requires Residents To Update Addresses After The End Of The General Code Used In The Cities. New System Creates Specific Ranges Per Street And Promises To Speed Up Deliveries, Reduce Mail Returns And Reorganize Urban Postal Addressing In The Region
Residents of Guaramirim, Corupá and Massaranduba officially began using the new ZIP Code per street since March, after a decision by the Postal Service that replaced the general code for the cities with specific ranges, aimed at improving mail delivery.
Official Change In Zip Code
The municipalities in Northern Santa Catarina have officially adopted the specific ZIP Code per address system.
The change was announced by the Postal Service in August 2025 and underwent a six-month adaptation period.

During this period, the old codes were still accepted. However, from March onwards, the previous model ceased to be valid, and each street now has its own ZIP Code.
According to the Postal Service, the generic code that covered all addresses in the cities can no longer be used for sending or registering mail.
New Zip Code Ranges By City
Each municipality received a new range of ZIP Codes designated for urban addresses. In Corupá, the codes now range from 89390-001 to 89393-999, replacing the old 89278-000.
In Guaramirim, the numbers range from 89270-001 to 89277-999, instead of the old 89270-000. In Massaranduba, the defined range is between 89380-001 and 89383-999.
These changes are part of the process of updating the postal addressing systems carried out by the Postal Service.
How To Check The New Zip Code
Residents of the three cities can find out the correct ZIP Code for their street through the official website of the Postal Service. The inquiry can be made in the section called “Search ZIP Code”.
The recommendation is that everyone updates the new ZIP Code in the records used on a daily basis, including water, electricity, gas, internet, telephone, and banking services.
It is also advised to update records in stores, credit cooperatives, and personal contact lists to avoid delivery errors.
Reasons For The Change
According to the Postal Service, using the ZIP Code per address increases the speed of mail distribution and reduces costs caused by returns.
The creation of new codes occurs continuously throughout the country, keeping up with urban growth and the emergence of new residential areas in various regions.
WEG Factory

Guaramirim, one of the municipalities affected by the change, houses a new unit of the multinational WEG.
The city is part of the group of three locations in Northern Santa Catarina that began using specific ZIP codes per street.
Guaramirim has also recently gained prominence after being chosen to host a new factory of the multinational WEG.
The project plans to invest around R$ 1.1 billion and is expected to occupy an area of approximately 730,000 square meters, with a forecast to generate about a thousand direct jobs when it starts operating.
