Coffee Paste Created In Switzerland Promises Flavor And Practicality Anywhere — Just Mix With Water Or Milk, Hot Or Cold

For many, preparing a good coffee is a ritual. Choosing the bean, the brewing method, and the right accessories are part of the experience. But there isn’t always time or infrastructure for that. This is where a curious proposal comes in: coffee in a tube.

Created by a Swiss company called no normal, the product promises practicality without sacrificing flavor. Instead of beans or ground coffee, the proposal is a concentrated paste, sold in tubes similar to toothpaste.

The idea came from two coffee and adventure enthusiasts who were looking for a way to enjoy quality coffee while traveling and on excursions.

Coffee Ready Anywhere

For those who can’t go a day without coffee, traveling can be a challenge. There isn’t always a café nearby, and carrying equipment like portable coffee makers or sachets can be a hassle. Not to mention the need for hot water to prepare it.

Thinking of this, the creators of the coffee in a tube sought a way to maintain the habit with practicality. The concentrated extract can be mixed with hot water, cold water, or even milk. This way, it is possible to enjoy a coffee wherever you are, without relying on machines or lengthy processes.

Ingredients And Usage Instructions

The paste is made with 46% Colombian Arabica coffee, 15% ground Arabica coffee from the same origin, along with Swiss beet sugar, water, and thickener.

The aim is to deliver a fuller flavor than regular instant coffees, as the product concentrates the aromas and properties of the roasted bean.

The recommended amount is five grams per serving, which yields about 20 cups per tube. Depending on the amount of liquid used, the coffee can be stronger or weaker. The roast used is intense, pleasing some palates but may not satisfy those who prefer milder coffees.

Versatility

Since it is not in powder form, coffee in a tube allows for creative uses. The manufacturers suggest spreading the paste on toast, mixing it with banana or chocolate, and even combining it with yogurt and oats. In one of the promotional images, the product is consumed straight from the tube, like an energy gel.

This versatility is part of the proposal. More than a substitute for conventional coffee, the product presents itself as an alternative for moments when traditional preparation is unfeasible.

Price And Shelf Life

On the official website of the brand no normal, the coffee tube costs 17.95 euros — about R$ 115.58. The price might seem high, but each tube yields about 20 servings, which reduces the cost per cup.

The company states that the product can be stored for up to 12 months if kept properly sealed, without the need for refrigeration.

Caffeine Content

One of the most questioned points is the caffeine content in such a concentrated product. The answer varies since it all depends on the dose used.

The company states that each five-gram portion contains about 47 mg of caffeine. For comparison, a regular espresso has around 63 mg.

This means that, depending on the preparation, the coffee in a tube can have more or less caffeine than an espresso. It all depends on the amount used in the mixture and the type of liquid chosen.

Divided Opinions

The flavor is the point that generates the most discussions. Some reviews highlight that the product is very sweet, while others think the opposite. Some say that the coffee is too strong, while others would prefer a version with medium roast.

Some consumers have tested it in recipes and reported mixed results. One of the most curious criticisms comes from someone who spread the paste on toast and found the flavor “horrible.”

Still, many praise the practicality and acknowledge that the proposal can be useful, especially for athletes or people in environments without easy access to traditional coffee.

Target Audience

Although anyone can try it, the campaign seems to focus on a more adventurous audience. Images and testimonials suggest that mountaineers, athletes, and travelers are the most interested. People who need energy but don’t always have a hot cup nearby.

The idea is still new and can be met with skepticism, but it has drawn curious individuals and coffee enthusiasts. Whether for the innovation or the convenience, coffee in a tube marks its presence as a different — and practical — option for those who don’t want to give up a good dose of caffeine, wherever they may be.
