City Hall Team Gave a Presentation on the Most Interesting Characteristics of the City
The city hall team of Macaé aims to insert the city into the World Energy Cities Consortium, globally known as WECP – World Energy Cities Partnership. This large group gathers countries, states, and cities genuinely committed to energy transition and renewable energies.
-
The government requests the Federal Revenue Service for a new system to automate the income tax declaration, reducing errors, time, and bureaucracy for millions of Brazilians.
-
Pix in installments, international Pix, and contactless payment without internet: the Central Bank revealed the new features coming to the tool that is already used by almost every adult in Brazil.
-
Mercado Livre has just started selling medications with delivery in up to three hours to your door, and this move could completely change the way Brazilians buy medicines on a daily basis.
-
In Dubai, rising tensions from the war in the Middle East are causing super-rich individuals to leave the Gulf and direct their fortunes to a new financial refuge in Asia.
The trend is that an expansion of this scenario, especially in Macaé, can generate thousands of new jobs that will benefit the entire local and national community.
Thus, during the meeting with the British consul, the city hall team made a big presentation about the main positive aspects of the city and recent data. In this way, they were able to bring to light the agenda of including Macaé in this Consortium to attract more investments.
The City of Macaé is an Important Place to Adopt Measures in Favor of Energy Transition
The city of Macaé is located in Rio de Janeiro and is an important point for oil exploration and its derivatives. After all, the city holds 80% of the national oil and 47% of natural gas production. Furthermore, the city has been affectionately nicknamed “National Capital of Oil” due to its exponential growth of 600% in recent years.
Thus, considering measures for energy transition implemented in the city will have a significant impact on national production. And these measures go beyond efforts to expand renewable energies and bring economic development with job creation.
What Does This New Partnership Mean for Brazil?
The “National Capital of Oil” could become the new “National Capital of Energy.” After all, the world is seeking new energy sources that are less polluting than fossil fuels. In this way, Macaé will continue to be an important hub for energy generation, but focusing on solar, wind, and biomass projects.
Moreover, 15 British companies already operate solely in Macaé and have significant job creation opportunities. With this new recognition, the trend is that we will see even greater investments.
Another very interesting factor is that Macaé will cooperate with Great Britain in technology, research, and innovation. Thus, what is expected is that there will be a very rapid evolution of clean energies in Brazil as a whole.
In other words, we can expect Macaé to become a new energy production hub, even independent of oil. Therefore, we will not rely solely on this type of resource for energy procurement. This is extremely important considering the city’s economic development always based on oil.
