After 24 Years Working in a Ford Multinational Factory, Former Metalworker Joins the Voluntary Dismissal Program and Runs His Own Business in SP

After the multinational vehicle manufacturer Ford ceased production and left Brazil, the famous saying “Every cloud has a silver lining” came true in the life of Marco Antônio Anibal, who dedicated 24 years of his life as a metalworker for the automaker, joined the Voluntary Dismissal Program (VDP) of the company, became an entrepreneur by investing in his own business, and opened a PINTA MUNDI TINTAS franchise in Pirassununga. The megastore in São Paulo has 200 m² and space to train professional painters.

The Paint Retail Segment Is a Great Choice for Those Seeking Profit Without Becoming a Slave to Shopping Hours and Scary Rents

Marco Antônio Aníbal: New Franchisee of Pinta Mundi Tintas in Pirassununga
disclosure

The paint retail segment is a great opportunity for those looking to achieve good profitability without becoming a slave to shopping hours, their rules, and frightening rents. It is a business in full expansion that allows the investor to work during business hours – from Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 6 PM, and on Saturdays, until 1 PM – without the worry of stocks that accumulate or that are highly perishable.

“Paints have a shelf life of up to three years. They are not like the fashion industry, for example, which changes collections four times a year. And they do not spoil, like food. So, our franchisee sleeps peacefully, not being a slave to the business,” says Nassim Katri, franchisor of PINTA MUNDI TINTAS.

This confidence demonstrated by the numbers presented by the franchisor is what attracted Marco Antônio Anibal, 49, to become a franchisee. He is now opening a unit of PINTA MUNDI TINTAS in Pirassununga (SP).

The investment was made based on extensive market research and after he participated in Ford’s Voluntary Dismissal Program (VDP) in São Bernardo do Campo (SP). “After 24 years working in a factory, the working hours at PINTA MUNDI TINTAS was one of the things that caught my attention the most. I will work from Monday to Saturday and will have more than a whole day to enjoy my family. Life is not just about working; that weighed heavily in my decision. Having that leisure time with my family was a major differentiator,” he says, who is the father of Felipe, 13, and Pedro Aníbal, 9, and husband of Simone Lopes Barzeachi Anibal, 36.

Former Metalworker from Ford Says He Intended to Retire Working at the Factory

Marco Antônio shares that he intended to retire working at the factory, but the cessation of activities ended his plans. Therefore, he was unsure of what to do with his professional life and considered various alternatives.

In March of this year, he moved to Pirassununga (SP) and, in conversations with a friend, Ronaldo Bonfim Barros, who is also a franchisee of PINTA MUNDI TINTAS, he heard great recommendations and decided to invest in the brand. “I believe in the potential of the business and also intend to provide quality services to the end consumer, with recommendations of suitable products for each type of service,” he says.

Even coming from a different field, former Ford metalworker Marco Antônio says he has been dedicating himself to learning about paints and emphasizes the importance of the training offered by the franchisor.

In a 200 m² store, the Pirassununga unit will offer a variety of brands, such as Suvinil, Coral, Sherwin-Williams, Real, Maza, Anjo, and Montana. In the space, customers will find interactive boards – which assist in choosing colors – as well as private parking. A room has been reserved to hold courses for painting professionals. “The idea is to also provide this social service since training people is a way to help them improve their lives. In partnership with industries, we want to offer various courses to professional painters so that they can provide even better services to the city’s residents,” concludes the new entrepreneur.
