Find Out If The BYD Dolphin Mini Used For R$ 90 Thousand Is Worth It For Uber And 99 In 2026. We Analyze Economy, Suspension, And Profitability Of The Electric Car For Apps

The used car market in 2026 brought an opportunity that many app drivers were waiting for: the used electric car with a competitive entry price. With units of the BYD Dolphin Mini being found in the price range of R$ 90 thousand to R$ 95 thousand, a considerable depreciation compared to the R$ 119 thousand at launch, the question echoing in WhatsApp groups of Uber and 99 is: “Is it worth the investment to work?”.

For those who drive 200 km a day, the math is nearly unbeatable. While a combustion hatch consumes around R$ 2,500 in gasoline per month, the energy cost for the Dolphin Mini is around R$ 350. This monthly savings is often greater than the amount of the financing installment itself.

BYD Dolphin Used: The Ally Of Urban Mobility

The Dolphin Mini stands out for its energy efficiency and agility in traffic. For the app driver, the advantages are direct:

  • Simplified Maintenance: Forget oil changes, spark plugs, or belts. The revisions occur every 20,000 km and focus mainly on filters and inspection of wear items.
  • Exemption From IPVA: In states like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the IPVA exemption (or discount) represents an annual “bonus” in the professional’s pocket.
  • Driveability: The instant torque makes urban overtakes easier, and the silence on board reduces fatigue after 10 hours of driving.

The “Trick”: Attention To Details

Not everything is perfect for those who intend to use the electric car professionally. The first point of attention is the version: Uber and 99 drivers should focus exclusively on the 5-seater version. Models with 4 seats may be barred by the platforms in some regions or limit the type of accepted ride.

Another critical detail is the rear suspension. Reports from owners indicate that it is “too soft,” which can cause discomfort for passengers or hard hits on uneven pavement when the car is at full capacity. Additionally, the 230-liter trunk requires some flexibility if the passenger has large bags—making it unfeasible, for example, for Uber Comfort or frequent trips to the airport.

Is The Investment Worth It?

If you have a place to charge the car at home overnight and focus on short and medium urban rides, the BYD Dolphin Mini for R$ 90 thousand is one of the best profit tools for 2026. The Blade battery, with an 8-year warranty, offers the necessary security for those afraid of the durability of the electric system.

However, before closing the deal, check the battery’s state of health (State of Health) and confirm that the full warranty is still valid for commercial use, as some manufacturers apply specific rules for professional drivers. At the end of the day, the used electric car has ceased to be a luxury and has become a financial survival strategy in the app.

Carros elétricos serão iguais a celulares.
