Contract Won By Saipem

Saipem has secured a contract in partnership with Eni Côte d’Ivoire and its partner Petroci to provide umbilicals, risers, and subsea flowlines (SURF) for the development of the Baleine Phase 2 project, located in the deep waters of the Ivory Coast, at a depth of 1,200 meters.

The scope of this contract covers the entire engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) process of approximately 20 kilometers of rigid lines, 10 kilometers of risers and flexible jumpers, and 15 kilometers of umbilicals connected to a specific floating unit for the project.

The installation operations are scheduled to take place in 2024, using Saipem’s construction vessels.

Saipem highlights its previous involvement in the drilling activities of Phase 1 of the Baleine project, where it provided the Saipem 10000 and Saipem 12000 vessels. This was followed by the execution of two contracts on a “fast-track” basis.

In addition to this success, Saipem has also secured a second contract through a joint venture with Rosetti Marino and Micoperi, this time with Snam Rete Gas. This new contract involves the construction of facilities for a new floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to be located in the sea off Ravenna, Italy.

This project encompasses the EPCI of a new offshore facility connected to the existing one for mooring and anchoring the FSRU. This unit will be linked to the shore by an offshore gas pipeline of 26 inches with a length of 8.5 kilometers, as well as a 2.6-kilometer onshore gas pipeline and a parallel fiber optic cable.
