The origin and creation of Ypê dates back to 1950, in the city of Amparo, in the interior of São Paulo. Founded as a small bar soap factory, the company was born from the entrepreneurial vision of a family group that sought to offer affordable products for Brazilian homemakers.

At that time, Brazil was undergoing profound social and economic transformations. The country was still urbanizing, and consumption habits were starting to change. Furthermore, the company has a robust portfolio, with more than 450 products distributed across 23 categories, including brands like Assolan, Atol, Tixan, Perfex, Flor de Ypê, Siene, and Action de Ypê.

Recognition and Leadership in Sustainability

Ypê is not only a beloved brand among the public but also an example of social and environmental responsibility. The company has stood out for years in awards that assess corporate commitment to the environment.

In 2024, Ypê won, for the 17th consecutive time, the category of Environmental Preservation at the Folha Top of Mind, in addition to winning for the 9th consecutive time in the Detergent category.

In the same year, the brand received the Gold Seal of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program, the highest national qualification for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories. The recognition attests to the company’s commitment to reducing environmental impact and taking concrete actions in favor of a low-carbon economy.

Commitment to Ethics and Business Integrity

Ypê has also distinguished itself as an example of ethical business conduct. In two consecutive editions (2020–2021 and 2022–2023), it was recognized with the Pro-Ethics Seal, an initiative of the Federal Comptroller General (CGU) that certifies companies committed to good governance practices, transparency, and combating corruption.

Additionally, the company is a signatory of the Business Pact for Integrity, promoted by the Ethos Institute for Companies and Social Responsibility. This is a voluntary commitment by Brazilian corporations to promote a fairer, more ethical, and trustworthy corporate environment.
