A Universal 110 Horsepower Engine

The small engine has 80 kW of power, equivalent to approximately 110 hp, with 13.8 kgfm of torque. It weighs about 50 kg and has a width of 441 mm and a length of 384 mm. The performance may not seem that great, but it’s on par with popular cars being sold in Brazil. However, some may seek performance and fuel economy, and in those cases, instead of an electric vehicle, a transition to a hybrid car could be a better option.

The HPD 80 kW engine was introduced in 2019 and began to be used in conversions in 2020, and since then has been improved and can be accommodated in commercial or light passenger cars.

The company’s mission is to offer an electric engine at a lower price than what is currently being sold. In the UK, the conversion price is reaching £7,680. However, in Brazil, it is still considered a high price.

In direct conversion, the price reaches R$ 53,471, which is the price of a Renault Kwid Intense. The price includes the engine, cooling system, transmission system, and one meter of wiring; considering that the cheapest electric cars we have in Brazil are a JAC iev20 with 68 hp, priced at R$ 159,900, or the Renault Zoe-e Tech at R$ 204,990, the price for the British company’s electric vehicle, at the price of a Renault Kwid Intense, does not seem so high compared to the existing cars.

In the UK, in a few years, combustion cars will not be allowed to circulate on the streets, so some companies are seeing this as an opportunity to convert regular cars into electric vehicles.

In addition to Swindon, the company London Electric Cars, also from the UK, is making conversions of the Mini Cooper, Land Rover Series Defenders, Morris Minors, Travellers, and vans.
