The Positions Offered in the Aeronautics Contest Represent a Unique Opportunity for Young People Who Wish to Join the Military Career and Specialize in Areas Essential for the Defense of the Country.

This Saturday, (04/06), applications for the highly anticipated Aeronautics contest are officially open. With a total of 15 positions available, this contest offers the opportunity for admission to training courses for aviator, supply, and infantry officers, with classes starting in 2025.

Qualified candidates will have the chance to study at the prestigious Air Force Academy (AFA), located in Pirassununga, in the interior of São Paulo.

What Are the Positions Available in the Aeronautics Contest?

The contest aims to fill positions in three distinct areas: supply, aviators, and infantry.

Five positions are allocated for supply officers, another five for aviators, both open to candidates of any gender.

The remaining five positions, designated for infantry, are exclusively for male candidates.

Who Can Apply?

The basic requirements include having a completed high school education and being between 17 and 22 years old by December 31, 2025.

How to Apply for the Aeronautics Contest?

Those interested in participating must register by 9 AM on April 22, Brasília time, exclusively through the official website of the Brazilian Air Force.

Fee and Exemption

There is a participation fee of R$ 90; however, it is possible to request an exemption from payment.

Beneficiaries of the Unified Cadastre for Social Programs from the federal government and bone marrow donors in entities recognized by the Ministry of Health are entitled to free registration.

What Are the Stages of the Selection Process to Join the Aeronautics?

The first phase of the selection process is scheduled for July 7 and will consist of 64 multiple-choice questions covering areas such as Portuguese language, English language, physics, and mathematics, in addition to an essay.

The exams will be held in 16 cities across all Brazilian regions, they are:

Northern Region

  • Belém (PA);
  • Boa Vista (RR);
  • Manaus (AM);
  • Porto Velho (RO).

Southeastern Region

  • Barbacena (MG);
  • Belo Horizonte (MG);
  • Pirassununga (SP);
  • Rio de Janeiro (RJ);
  • São Paulo (SP).

Midwestern Region

  • Brasília (DF);
  • Campo Grande (MS).

Southern Region

  • Curitiba (PR);
  • Porto Alegre (RS).

Northeastern Region

  • Natal (RN);
  • Recife (PE);
  • Salvador (BA).

Candidates approved in this phase will proceed to subsequent stages, including a health inspection, psychological aptitude examination, and physical test.

Training and Compensation

The undergraduate courses last four years and are conducted in a boarding regime.

Students enrolled as cadets receive approximately R$ 1,500, in addition to benefits such as accommodation, uniforms, meals, and medical-hospital and dental assistance.

After graduation, military personnel hold the position of officer cadet, with salaries around R$ 10,000, considering additional benefits, and may be assigned to serve throughout the national territory.
