Secretary Confirms Detran Contest for the Department of Traffic of RN; Conclusion Expected by February 2026. Salaries May Exceed R$ 13 Thousand.
The Detran RN contest announcement is close to being released. The expectation is that the publication will occur in the coming weeks. A total of 80 positions will be offered for the State Department of Traffic of Rio Grande do Norte. This information was confirmed by the State Secretary of Administration, Pedro Lopes.
The confirmation of the approaching announcement came from Secretary Pedro Lopes. He spoke about the contest during an interview on the “98 FM Natal” channel. According to the secretary, a Conduct Adjustment Term (TAC) sets a deadline for the completion of the selection process. The contest is expected to be concluded within 270 days (nine months) after the Judiciary’s approval. The government’s goal is to finalize the entire process by February 2026.
Positions and Vacancies: What is Known About the Opportunities?
The Detran RN contest will offer a total of 80 immediate vacancies. However, the specific positions that will be included have not yet been defined. This definition will occur later, by decision of the government of the State of Rio Grande do Norte. Details about the roles and educational requirements will come in the announcement.

The salaries for positions at Detran RN are defined by Complementary Law No. 696, of January 6, 2022. According to the legislation, the initial basic salary varies. The values start at R$ 1,400.00 and can reach R$ 5,164.30, depending on the position. Throughout the career, in the last class, the salary can reach R$ 13,049.92.
Last Detran RN Contest
The last Detran RN contest took place more than a decade ago, in 2010. The organization of the event was entrusted to the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). At that time, 285 immediate vacancies were offered. Of this total, 22 vacancies were reserved for people with disabilities. The opportunities were distributed among various positions, such as Technical Advisor, Technical Assistant, and Support Analyst. There were also vacancies for Electrician, Programmer, and Inspector, covering different areas of activity within the agency.
