Federal Police Exam: Announcement Authorized with 192 Open Positions for High School and Higher Education
After much anticipation, the Federal Police (PF) exam has finally been authorized. The confirmation came on December 6, through the Official Gazette, guaranteeing 192 positions for administrative roles at high school and higher education levels. With this authorization, the announcement is expected to be published by June 2025, and the exams conducted by August of the same year, as per the maximum deadline established.
In addition to this exam for the administrative area, new positions for the police career are also planned, fulfilling one of President Lula’s promises. Check out all the details about positions, salaries, and the schedule set for this awaited selection.
What Are the Positions in the Federal Police Exam?
The new Federal Police (PF) exam brings 192 positions for the administrative area, distributed among high school and higher education roles. See the complete list:

- Administrative Agent – 100 positions.
Higher Education
- Social Worker – 13 positions;
- Accountant – 9 positions;
- Nurse – 3 positions;
- Doctor – 35 positions;
- Psychologist – 6 positions;
- Pharmacist – 2 positions;
- Nutritionist – 1 position;
- Statistician – 4 positions;
- Administrator – 6 positions;
- Social Communication Technician – 3 positions;
- Educational Affairs Technician – 10 positions.
With the announcement published, the next step will be the formation of the organizing committee and the selection of the testing agency responsible for administering the exams. Although the maximum deadline for the publication of the announcement is June 2025, the document may be released sooner.
Attractive Salaries for Those Approved
The future administrative servers of the Federal Police will have attractive salaries. For the position of administrative agent (high school), the starting salary will be R$ 6,173.31. For positions at the higher education level, the salary starts from R$ 7,296.69, except for doctors, who will receive R$ 9,547.40.
These amounts already include food assistance of R$ 1,000.00. The working hours will be 40 hours per week for all functions.
PF Administrative Area Has Not Held an Exam in Over a Decade
The last exam for the administrative area of the Federal Police took place in 2013, with 566 positions, of which 534 were for the position of administrative agent. At that time, more than 314 thousand candidates participated in the selection.
As in the previous exam, the selection will not require a physical test, as the positions are aimed at administrative activities within the agency. Thus, candidates will be evaluated only through objective tests.

The request sent by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security provides for 2,000 vacancies for police careers, distributed among the following positions:
- Clerk
- Delegate
- Forensic Expert
- Fingerprint Expert
What to Expect from the PF Announcement
Now that the authorization has been granted, the Federal Police will begin internal procedures to define the rules of the exam. Among the next steps are:
- Formation of the organizing committee – Group responsible for coordinating the selection;
- Choice of the examining agency – Company responsible for administering the exams;
- Development of the announcement – Definition of the schedule and program content;
- Publication of the announcement – With a maximum deadline until June 2025.
Although the announcement may be issued before the final deadline, the exams can only be conducted within two months after the publication of the document, that is, by August 2025.
With this, candidates can start their preparation, as the competition will be intense. The new PF exam is expected to be one of the most competitive in recent years, especially for the position of administrative agent, which typically attracts thousands of applications.
