Get To Know The Company Offering The Driver Vacancies
As the oldest public transport company in operation in Brazil, Carris was established with the authorization of Emperor Dom Pedro II, via decree, in June 1872.
At the time, the capital of the gauchos was a quiet province of only 44 thousand inhabitants, which had recently completed 100 years since its founding. Initially, the company operated mule-drawn trams, and in 1908, the company inaugurated the electric tram service, which was only deactivated in the 1970s.
In 1928, the company also began offering bus transport to locations where trams did not reach. Currently, the company operates 24 lines. Of these, 17 are transverse, 4 are circular, and 3 are radial. Of the fleet of 347 vehicles, 315 are in operation, and 32 are in reserve.
