The Green Hydrogen Project in Ceará
Gustavo Silva, operations director of the company in Brazil, says that a large part of the energy needed for the production of green hydrogen will be supplied by the company’s own wind and solar farms located in the state of Ceará.
The renewable energy project portfolio of Qair includes 8,000 to 9,000 MW in the state, with 5,000 MW in wind and 3,000 to 4,000 MW in solar. Of these, 210 MW are already in operation and another 600 MW are under construction. The largest project is an offshore wind farm in Acaraú, with an initial capacity of 1,200 MW, potentially reaching 2,400 MW, in partnership with Vestas. The French group intends to build a transmission line connecting the park to the green hydrogen plant at Porto do Pecém.

In Addition to the Construction in Ceará, the Company Has Plans for a New Plant in Pernambuco
The government of Pernambuco has initiated technical and economic feasibility studies for the establishment of a green hydrogen production plant at the Port of Suape.
The initiative, named the Pernambuco Green Hydrogen Plant, plans to install four sets of water electrolyzers in areas located at the Port of Suape, in four implementation phases. When consolidated, the project could become the second largest in the history of the state.
Governor Paulo Câmara states that one of the world giants in renewable energy production is settling in Suape to install a plant that will generate what is called green hydrogen, a valuable input for the industrial sector. Investments in the new hydrogen plant may reach US$ 3.8 billion.
The construction of the green hydrogen plant in Pernambuco will employ combined processes of electrolysis, pumping, and liquefaction, allowing the product to be sent over long distances, in addition to natural gas reforming.
