According to Copel, the 26 wind turbines will be divided between four wind energy parks, two in Jandaíra and two in Pedra Preta, municipalities in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, adding a total power of 90,1 megawatts, enough power to meet demand. Approximately 250 people will benefit from this clean and renewable source of energy, and may have a significant reduction in their energy bills.
Construction of the Complex Copel's wind energy
This January, the works should begin. Removal of vegetation, cleaning of the site and opening of accesses where the wind turbines will be installed is a priority in this first stage of the works, in addition to the work on installing the Jandaíra Substation (230 kV). This project was born aiming at a more ecological future for the RN, being able to expand throughout the country.
Inauguration of the Complex from Copel
The Government of RN and Copel set a deadline to make the Wind Power Complex work as early as 2022, in mid-July. The high expectation of everyone in the state brings encouragement and very positive points to the government and the company, which has been increasingly dedicated to making this project successful, visible and recognized, not only in Brazil, but internationally as well, since other countries already have wind farms as a source of energy, with China being a pioneer in this regard.
