Cinase Will Take Place on October 4th and 5th in the Paraná Capital and Will Address IoT Application for Increased Productivity and Greater Safety in Industries

On October 4th and 5th, Curitiba will host the 45th edition of the National Electric Sector Circuit (Cinase) – Congress and Exhibition. This traveling event has already passed through three Brazilian cities this year, highlighting the latest trends in the segment.

One of the main topics of discussion will be the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the industrial electric sector. This technology is transforming factories by providing connectivity to machines, increasing productivity, improving worker safety, and optimizing energy efficiency. It is estimated that the industrial sector is responsible for more than 30% of the total energy consumption in the country (Energy Research Company – EPE).

“With IoT, smart reports are generated in real time, identifying problems such as high energy consumption in machines, improper use of lighting sources, failures in cooling systems, and outdated equipment. These insights enable significant improvements in industrial processes,” says Marco Stoppa, director of Reymaster, a Curitiba-based master sponsor of Cinase, who will also be present at the event’s discussion panels.

Founded in 1987 and recognized as one of the ten largest electric materials distributors in the country; Reymaster will present the practical operation of the automation system from multinational Siemens, focusing on variable frequency drives. These devices are essential for starting and controlling the speed and power of electric motors, reducing inrush current during startup, providing smooth stops, and ensuring precision in industrial processes.

In addition to being super compact, another advantage is that this type of drive operates via wireless, eliminating the need for cabling. Users can remotely monitor and diagnose their systems, reducing inertia time and ensuring cost savings and versatility.

Another solution presented at the event will be from Engerey Electric Panels, with over 20 years of market experience. The highlight is the model called “SM6 Connected,” developed by Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation present in over 100 countries.

This panel uses IoT and Cloud Computing that, through wireless sensors, can detect any issues in its components and even anomalies in electricity distribution to machines in the industry in real time, from anywhere, via a mobile phone. The access system quickly crosses information and suggests correction protocols in different scenarios for quick, assertive, and safe decisions.

Among the types of monitoring done with wireless devices are humidity, ambient temperature, and cold point for calculating the condensation point. When any of these parameters are inadequate, alarms are triggered. It is estimated that monitoring prevents about 50% of failures in panels, for example, component deterioration caused by aggressive environments.

“Worrying about prevention is not a cost, but an investment – and you can bet there is certain profit. If today we can anticipate future troubles, which can cause halts in the production line and incalculable losses, why operate in outdated systems? It makes no sense,” says Fábio Amaral, director of Engerey.

The Cinase in Curitiba, an essential part of the agenda of the main players in the energy market in Brazil, is a business catalyst, sharing advanced technologies related to electric energy throughout the country. The event has already taken place in Rio de Janeiro/RJ, Belém/PA, and Fortaleza/CE this year.
