High school students from the public state network of Espírito Santo can now enroll in the 2025 Selection Process for free English and Spanish language courses offered by the State Language Centers (CEIs). The SEDU Notice No. 04/2025 establishes all the rules for filling the 3,030 available spots, providing continuing education and free professional training.

The objective of the language course is to provide students with fluency in a foreign language, expanding their academic and professional opportunities. Classes will be in-person, with a workload of 2.5 hours per week, divided into two meetings of 75 minutes each. Activities include lectures, conversation practice, written exercises, and periodic assessments. The free courses last for up to two years, and participants will have access to updated teaching materials.

Available Spots And Offering Locations

The selection process offers 3,030 spots distributed among several municipalities in Espírito Santo, including Vitória, Serra, Vila Velha, Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Linhares, Guarapari, and other cities. Classes are organized in CEIs located within state schools. Some units offer only English, while others have Spanish language classes.

Selection Process

Spots will be distributed according to the criteria established by the notice, including 50% for general competition, 45% for Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Quilombola students (PPIQ), and 5% for People with Disabilities (PcD). Classification will be based on criteria such as time spent studying in the public network, current grade, registration in the Unified Registry, and place of residence.

Requirements For Enrollment

To enroll in the free language courses, candidates must be enrolled in the 1st or 2nd year of high school in the public state network of Espírito Santo in 2025. It is also necessary to have a CPF, student identity card, and, if available, a registration number in the Unified Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico). The student may opt for only one CEI and one language (English or Spanish).
