Used electric car market expanding in Brazil? Find out which cheap electric cars are dominating the classifieds list for under R$80!

As sales increase, used electric cars are gaining prominence. With the arrival of cheap Chinese electric cars like the BYD Dolphin and JAC E-JS1 and some other entry-level options, like the Renault Kwid E-Tech, it is not difficult to find cheap electric car options under R$100 in the classifieds. We have separated all the options for used electric cars for less than R$80 in Brazil.

Caoa Chery iCar – From R$ 76.000

For a while, the Chery iCar It was the cheapest electric car in Brazil. This was Caoa Chery's bet, making the subcompact the option for those looking for a car just to face daily traffic.

This is one of the cheapest compact electric cars. Its engine has 61 hp and 15,3 kgfm and the 30,4 kWh battery allows it to travel for only 197 km, according to Inmetro. As it is only 3,2 meters long, it is a bit cramped, especially in the back seats.

Renault Kwid E-Tech – from R$ 65.000

Being one of the cheapest used electric cars in Brazil, the Renault Kwid E-Tech has not had an easy life. Launched for R$142.990, it was supposed to dominate the segment, but the delay in deliveries caused it to lose precious moments and ended up seeing the competition arrive and take its place.

Instead of a combustion engine, the Kwid E-Tech has an electric motor with 65 hp and 11,5 kgfm, a configuration exclusive to Brazil. It has one of the smallest batteries on the list, with just 26,8 kWh, providing 185 km of autonomy according to Inmetro measurements.

JAC E-JS1 – From R$ 80.000

Another one on the list of the most affordable used electric cars in the country is the JAC E-JS1, which sold considerably well for a few months, so there are many used units with a wide range of prices. It is possible to find units for R$80 and with almost 29 km driven.

Despite the developments made compared to the iEV20, it doesn't have the best autonomy, of only 161 km according to Inmetro, even though it has 30,2 kWh batteries. It's also not one of the most powerful, with 62 horsepower and 15,3 kgfm.

Caoa Chery Arrizo 5e – From R$ 90.000

This is one of the cheap electric cars so rare that some people even forget it was launched. It was the same compact sedan, replacing the combustion engine with an electric system and which first arrived aimed at direct sales, for R$159.900, which was considered very expensive at the time.

The battery is 53,5 kWh, but the declared autonomy was 322 km. According to the current Inmetro standard, this number would drop by 30%, allowing it to run for 225 km. In place of the 1.5 turbo is the 122 hp and 28,1 kgfm electric motor.

Nissan Leaf – From R$96.000

For those looking for one of the slightly larger budget electric cars, one option is the Nissan Leaf. The Hatch Medium is one of the first electric cars in the country and is one of the easiest to find in used car stores.

The 149 hp and 32,6 kgfm engine is good, however, the energy comes from the 40 kWh batteries, which gives 192 km of autonomy, little compared to more modern cars.

Renault Zoe – From R$ 86.000

The Renault Zoe is a more refined model, but in the used electric car market you have to look hard, as it usually costs well over R$100, even if it was discontinued a few years ago.

This model has a 92 hp and 22,4 kgfm engine, while the battery was 41 kWh, which gave it a range of 300 km according to the European WLTP test cycle. At the time, Inmetro did not yet measure electric vehicles and if we apply the 30% rule, the range would be 210 km.

BYD Dolphin Mini – From R$75.800

Recently launched, the BYD Dolphin Mini is one of the best-selling low-cost electric cars in the country. Although it is new to the stores, some owners are already selling the model for well below R$100 and with few kilometers on the clock.

Hair Inmetro, has the longest range of all used cars on this list, being able to travel for 280 km, even though the 38,8 kWh battery is not the largest in the ranking. Made for city life, its engine delivers 75 hp and 13,8 kgfm.

I don't know the current values of each one but I guarantee you that you won't find a BYD Dolphin Mini for 75 thousand or even close to that. At least, if someone is starving, you can find it for something close to 90 less than that, it's impossible, you're getting into ****. The price is around 100k
